Mount Gretna Tabernacle Finial Rededication at Mount Gretna Tabernacle

Free | 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 | 203 3rd St., Mount Gretna

For nearly 130 years, the Tabernacle has been crowned by an architectural finial, a decorative element often used to highlight the apex of structures like domes and spires. Installed in the late 19th or early 20th century, the Tabernacle finial follows a tradition dating back to ancient Egypt and Greece. Although the creator of the Tabernacle’s finial is unknown, it was skillfully handcrafted from tin and has withstood decades of weather. Recently removed for roof replacement, the finial was found to be in good condition and has been refurbished through the generosity of a Campmeeting neighbor who provided CAD drawings, repainted the piece, and added UV protection for lasting preservation.

This celebration marks the culmination of a successful fundraising campaign, including donations for roof repairs from the West Cornwall Township Board of Supervisors and community members. Please join us at The Tabernacle, located at the corner of 3rd Street and Glossbrenner Avenue, to celebrate the rededication and honor our shared history and community spirit.
