A contractor is scheduled to clean up a diesel fuel spill this week along southbound Interstate 81 in Swatara Township, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced in a release.

The work area is between the Schuylkill County line (Swopes Valley Road) and Route 72 at Mile Marker 92.9.

Weather permitting, the work will be performed from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7-8. The left lane and berm of southbound I-81 will be closed during work hours.

Moderate delays are expected, PennDOT said in the release. Motorists should be alert for slow-moving traffic, watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway, and drive with caution through the work zone.
