Big Brothers Big Sisters of South-Central PA (formerly Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region) is hosting the second annual Youth Leadership Summit for high school students.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill. According to a release from Krystina Shultz, marketing and communications manager for the organization, close to 200 students are expected to attend from 17 area high schools in Lebanon, York, Lancaster, Dauphin, and Cumberland counties.

High school students will network with their peers and develop leadership, teamwork, and professional skills through the summit’s guided workshops and sessions, the release said. Students will also have an opportunity to connect with colleges and employers at an on-site resource fair.

Attending students are participants in Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 1:1 youth mentoring program, with most of them involved in the Beyond School Walls workforce development and High School Bigs leadership programs.

Regional employers, business representatives, and local leaders will attend the summit’s Rising Leaders Luncheon from noon to 2 p.m. to give students a further opportunity to network with innovators and visionaries while building their professional connections.
