Lebanon School District will hold a free, open-to-the-public screening of The Right to Read — a 2023 documentary on Oakland NAACP activist Kareem Weaver’s work to improve literacy rates in the U.S. — at Lebanon Junior High from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The event is in cooperation with Lebanon County NAACP Branch 26 AA. The screening will be followed with a discussion on literacy instruction.

“All parents, teachers and members of the community are encouraged to attend this event and engage in dialogue as we create awareness and partnerships around early literacy education,” according to a press release from the school district.

Attendees are asked to RSVP using a Google form to guarantee seating.
