The Lebanon County Choral Society will begin their spring season with two “open” rehearsals, on February 10 and 17, so that interested singers may practice with the group without commitment.

The organization rehearses on Monday evenings at Hebron United Methodist Church, 451 E Walnut Street, Lebanon. Singers in ninth grade through adult are invited to join the adult chorus, which meets from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m., while those in third through eighth grades are welcome in the youth chorus, which meets from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Artistic director Sean Hackett conducts the adult chorus and Gabrielle Quandel Umholtz directs the youth chorus.

“We had a very successful season in the fall, and I’m even more hopeful for the spring,” says Hackett. “We’ve had a number of new singers join us, and we know growth leads to more growth, as people invite their friends.”

The theme for the spring season is “All Things Bright and Beautiful: Celebrating the Mysteries of Creation,” culminating with a concert on Sunday, May 18, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon. The youth chorus will perform an additional, stand-alone concert as part of the May First Friday Art Walk at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Lebanon.

Interested singers are invited to visit www.LCCSmusic.org for more information. Questions may be directed to managementLCCS@gmail.com

Founded in 1889, the Lebanon County Choral Society has a long tradition of bringing quality choral music to the Lebanon area. In the past decades they have expanded their mission to include a youth chorus, a free music day camp, and a young conductors’ program, all while continuing and enhancing the legacy of excellent choral performances by the adult chorus, the foundation of the organization. While centered in Lebanon County, the group includes singers from Robesonia, Mt. Gretna, Palmyra, and Hershey.
