The South Lebanon Township Police Department is investigating a sexual assault alleged to have occurred earlier this month at the Lebanon County Career & Technology Center.
“Student and staff safety is of the utmost importance to the LCCTC,” said administrative director Charles Benton.
Immediately upon learning of the alleged assault, school administration made reports to Childline and local law enforcement, Benton said.
No further details of the assault have been shared publicly by authorities at this time. Benton declined to say whether any instructor has been disciplined or terminated, or whether any students have been suspended or expelled, over the incident.
“We continue to coordinate and collaborate with law enforcement,” said Benton. “While we cannot comment on any discipline issued to specific staff or students, we can confirm that immediate and significant steps were taken to ensure the ongoing safety of all students.”
Update 10 a.m. – Benton sent out an email to the LCCTC community on Tuesday morning acknowledging LebTown’s report. The full text is included below.
Dear LCCTC Students and Families,
We are aware of a recent media report involving an alleged incident at LCCTC. While we are limited in what we can share due to student and personnel privacy laws, I want to communicate directly with you about our response and our ongoing commitment to school safety.
Student and staff safety is our highest priority. As soon as the Administration was made aware of the reported incident, the matter was immediately reported to Childline and local law enforcement. We continue to work closely and transparently with the authorities as they conduct their investigation.
While we cannot provide details about specific individuals or disciplinary actions, please be assured that immediate and significant steps were taken to ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of all students and staff on our campus.
We understand that situations like this may create uncertainty or concern. If your child has questions or needs additional support, our school counselors and administrative team are available to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership.
Sincerely,
Charles Benton
Administrative Director
