Byler Holdings announced that a groundbreaking ceremony will be held Wednesday, April 16, for a new extended stay hotel at North Cornwall Commons.

The 89-room hotel, which will operate under the TownePlace Suites by Marriott flag, will be managed by State College-based Shaner Hotel Group, which also manages the existing 90-room Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites at North Cornwall Commons.

According to a news release, the TownePlace Suites by Marriott will feature “spacious suites with full kitchens, complimentary free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and more.”

The pet-friendly hotel will offer a variety of layouts including king studio, queen-queen studio, and one-bedroom suites. Rooms will feature workstations and closets by The Container Store, and the hotel will have an outdoor pool and grilling area.

North Cornwall Commons is across the street from the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds, which is best known as the location of the Lebanon Area Fair but is also a tourism destination year-round as host to numerous events.

Byler Holdings is developer of the 136-acre mixed use North Cornwall Commons project, which will eventually span both sides of Cornwall Road. Construction to date has centered on the 81-acre eastern site. North Cornwall Township recently approved plans for phases 2A and 2B, which will see 81 homes added to an existing townhome community.
