Lebanon Bicycle Recycle will host the third annual Spring Fling Bicycle Giveaway this Sunday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 53 Chestnut St., Lebanon.
This family-friendly event is a cornerstone of Lebanon Bicycle Recycle’s mission to promote healthy outdoor activity and bicycle safety among children, organizers explained in a release. The event will feature a free bicycle and helmet giveaway for children who could use a 20-inch or smaller bicycle, typically appropriate for those aged 12 and under.
“Our goal has always been to bring the joy and freedom of bicycling to as many children as possible,” Laurie Crawford, co-executive director of Lebanon Bicycle Recycle, said in the release. “We believe in the power of bicycles to create confidence, connection, and lifelong healthy habits, and we’re thrilled to share this with our community for a third year.”
The event will include a bicycle safety obstacle course to help children learn essential riding skills in a fun and engaging way, the release said. Light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Older youth in need of a bicycle are encouraged to visit Lebanon Bicycle Recycle at 53 Chestnut St. during regular hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, when volunteers are available to assist with fittings, minor repairs, and matching individuals with a suitable bike. The shop will reopen to the public for the season on May 5.
