LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

Our Pet of the Week is sometimes available for adoption through a local shelter. Other times the weekly column will spotlight a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home.

This week, meet Murphy!

Murphy is a fox red Labrador retriever, says owner Kelly Hackman, and he turned 2 on April 5.

“Murphy joined our family when he was 8 weeks old. He is your typical lab who always wants to be with his people, always at your feet following you around or on your lap, thinking he’s a lap dog,” Kelly says. “He is just the best dog and a very special part of our family.”

The young pup “absolutely loves playing outside with his frisbee and soccer ball,” she adds, and he “loves chewing up sticks and making a mess of the yard. He loves going to the family cabin and watching the boys fish. He enjoys car rides and visits to Lowes, Tractor Supply and PetSmart. He loves pup cups at DQ and Oola Bowls.”

Murphy also “loves to take selfies with my daughter Hayley, pose with my son Logan, and sleep on the recliner with my husband. He is such a good boy and the sweetest dog that anyone could ever ask for,” Kelly says. “He plays hard and also loves his naps.”

Congratulations to Murphy for being this week’s LebTown Pet of the Week!
