The Lebanon County MH/ID/EI Program is offering free suicide prevention training through the QPR Institute on June 18, providing community members with essential skills to recognize and respond to individuals at risk of suicide.

The three-hour QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper training session will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the program’s facility at 220 East Lehman Street in Lebanon. Participants who complete the entire course will receive certification as QPR Gatekeepers.

The training is designed for a broad range of community members, including parents, teachers, ministers, first responders, mental health professionals, and anyone interested in learning life-saving intervention skills. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs of suicide, understand suicide as a public health issue, and access local and national resources for help.

Interested participants must register in advance by contacting Monica Boyer at Monica.Boyer@lebanoncountypa.gov. The program reminds attendees that full course attendance is required for certification.
