On Monday, June 16, Lebanon city police announced the weekend arrests of 25-year-old Hensy Rafael Peralta and 18-year-old Josue David Baez-Perez over an armed robbery alleged to have taken place early Saturday morning.
According to court documents, city police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Cherry Street shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, for a report of a suspicious person.
Police said an investigation revealed that Peralta and Baez-Perez had entered a residence by force and threatened to kill the occupants.
In the home, Peralta is alleged to have cycled the action of a firearm and told the occupants that he would kill them before the pair took a PlayStation 5, a mountain bike, and a pair of shoes, with a total value of approximately $800.
Police said that upon arrival to the scene they quickly located and arrested the two men, and that Peralta was carrying a Taurus handgun at the time of his arrest. Peralta does not have a concealed carry permit, police noted in the affidavit of probable cause.
Baez-Perez was carrying marijuana and a THC vaporizer at the time of arrest, police said.
Both men were remanded to Lebanon County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, set at $250,000 each by Magisterial District Judge John W. Ditzler in arraignments Saturday.
Both men face eight identical felony and misdemeanor charges, including burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, conspiracy to commit theft, theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to receive stolen property, terroristic threats, and conspiracy to make terroristic threats. Baez-Perez faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana while Peralta faces an additional felony charge of firearms not to be carried without a license.
Preliminary hearings in the cases against Baez-Perez and Peralta are scheduled for June 26 at 8 a.m. in front of Magisterial District Judge Kim R. Wolfe. Both men are residents of Shenandoah, PA.
