The 51st annual Mount Gretna Art Show will be held rain or shine on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16-17, on the streets and in the parks of Mount Gretna.
Show hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Held on the historic grounds of the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, the art show is consistently ranked highly by artists’ trade publications and was ranked in the 200 Best nationwide by Sunshine Artist. The annual event brings award-winning fine arts and crafts from artists across the U.S., featuring 200 exhibitors as well as an Emerging Artists section, and also offers gourmet food from local restaurants, music, and entertainment under the trees of Old Chautauqua.
In 2024, the show added the Mount Gretna International Film Festival to its offerings. This year, the film festival is expanding to both days and will be held at the Mount Gretna Playhouse.
Free parking will be at Soldiers Field on Timber Road (near the lake). The Mount Gretna Volunteer Fire Company will provide shuttle service for handicapped visitors. Shuttle service will also be available from WellSpan Philhaven hospital.
Route 117 will be closed during show hours.
The Kids Art Show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both days at the Chautauqua Playground. Sponsored in part by a Mount Gretna United Methodist Church William Drendall Grant, the family-friendly activity will invite children to participate in make-and-take art activities and more.
Snitz Creek Brewery will offer craft beer and wine in the Hall of Philosophy during the show.
