PennDOT announced that a soil remediation is planned for Wednesday, July 2, on westbound Interstate 78 in Lebanon County to clean up a diesel fuel spill from a truck crash.

The work site is at mile marker 3.9, just east of the Lickdale Road overpass in Bethel Township. The work previously was scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, but was postponed.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, during which time the left lane and shoulder of westbound I-78 will be closed. The right lane will remain open.

There may be delays. Motorists should be alert and watch for slow-moving vehicles and construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways at 511PA.com or on the 511PA smartphone app, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
