Detective Camp – The City of Lebanon hosted a Detective Camp at City Hall, where children had the opportunity to explore the world of crime scene investigation alongside Lebanon city detectives. Junior detectives had an interactive morning with hands-on activities, including dusting for fingerprints, evidence documentation of a mock crime scene, and a guided tour of the police department. Officers loved watching future detectives explore, learn, and grow! A huge thank you to the community for making this year’s Detective Camp a success! Your support helps the police department build stronger connections and inspire the next generation! Until next time … case closed!

Little acts, big impact – On the morning of July 16, the Lebanon City Police Department had a special visit from L-Pree Laurel and his grandmother, Sonya Ortiz, as they shared their encounter with an officer.

The police department wants to recognize one of its own for going above and beyond the badge. Officer St. Clair responded to a call involving animal neglect. The nature of the complaint caused L-Pree to become distraught and worried about the well-being of his neighbor’s animal. After ensuring the animal was safe and would receive the proper care, Officer St. Clair noticed L-Pree was shaken up by the incident. Officer St. Clair cleared the call but later returned with a few gifts to ensure L-Pree would have a better day.

Officer St. Clair exemplifies what it means to be a Lebanon city police officer. This wasn’t done for recognition, but a selfless act of service. Acts like these remind us of what true service means … caring, protecting, and stepping up when no one is watching. Thank you, Officer St. Clair, for showing what it truly means to serve with heart!

Vehicle theft prevention – In the past, Pennsylvania saw an uptick in vehicle crime in the hotter months. No matter the heat, a cool vehicle isn’t worth a stolen one. Too many vehicles are left idling in driveways or parking lots. It only takes 30 seconds for thieves to steal an idling vehicle. The air conditioning can wait. Remember:

  • Never leave your car running, unlocked, and unattended.
  • Use remote start if available for your vehicle.
  • Turn it off, lock up, and take the keys. Every time.
