Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:12 a.m. July 25, this crash occurred on North Center Street when an unknown brown SUV struck a 31-year-old Fredericksburg man and continued without stopping. The man sustained a suspected minor injury but refused transport.

City of Lebanon

Drug possession, disorderly conduct – On July 22, police charged Jose Padilla-Santiago, 30, with possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct after an incident on the 200 block of South 4th Street.

Burglary, tampering with physical evidence – On July 23, police charged Quentin Nutall-Smetana, 18, with burglary and tampering with physical evidence after an incident on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street.

Burglary – On July 23, police charged Alejandro Perez-Nieves, 21, with burglary after an incident on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street.

Retail theft – On July 23, police charged Shirley Maines, 52, with retail theft after an incident on the 800 block of South 12th Street.

Accidents involving personal injury, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle – On July 24, police charged April Shipley, 46, with accidents involving personal injury, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle, and vehicle turning left after a crash on the 400 block of Lehman Street.

Retail theft – On July 27, police charged Erin Landry, 40, with retail theft after an incident on the 800 block of Bowman Street.

Drug possession, public drunkenness – On July 28, police charged Jayvan Zarzuela-Polanco, 29, with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness after police responded to the area of 7th and Spring streets for a well-being check.

Drug possession, public drunkenness – On July 30, police charged Leslie Bryant, 37, with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness after police responded to the 800 block of Chestnut Street for a well-being check.

Jackson Township

Theft – At 2:56 p.m. July 23, police responded to West Washington Avenue for a 65-year-old Robesonia woman’s report of a theft.

Lebanon County Regional

Retail theft – Police responded to Kohl’s in North Cornwall Township for a reported non-active retail theft. Police were advised by Loss Prevention at Kohl’s of a retail theft that occurred at 12:45 p.m. May 25 in which a male subject, who was later identified as Alexander Oquendo-Ortiz, 34, stole merchandise valued at $694.00 by concealing it in his backpack. A warrant was issued for Oquendo-Ortiz’s arrest, who was later located, taken into custody, and charged with misdemeanor retail theft.

Drug possession, certificate of inspection required – At 2:35 p.m. May 27, police pulled over a vehicle on the 1800 block of Jay Street in North Lebanon Township for an expired registration. The investigation revealed that Charles Kille, 50, was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Police charged Kille with misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary certificate of inspection required.

DUI – On June 22, police pulled over a vehicle driven by Cristalichia Klein, 30, on the 2100 block of Lehman Street in West Lebanon Township. Police found Klein to be under the influence of alcohol. Misdemeanor DUI charges were filed upon the receipt of Klein’s blood results.

Theft of lost property, access device fraud – On June 25, police received a report of a theft on the 1500 block of Joel Drive in North Lebanon Township. The person reported that her credit card was stolen and then used fraudulently at local convenience stores. Police identified the suspect as Hotward Martinez-Quinones, 35, and charged him with misdemeanor theft of lost property and misdemeanor access device fraud.

Disorderly conduct, public drunkenness – On July 5, police responded to assist EMS at the Drunken Smithy inside the Lebanon Valley Mall for an unresponsive male. When EMS and police arrived on the scene, Trey Beachley, 32, became combative with EMS personnel and police. Beachley was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Police charged Beachley with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and summary public drunkenness.

Theft by unlawful taking – Around 11:07 p.m. July 11, police responded to the Hearth Restaurant for a report of a theft. It was reported that a female subject entered the restaurant and, while checking out, opened the cash register drawer when the owner was distracted. While the cash register drawer was open, the subject removed $80.00 and left on foot. Police later identified the subject as Stephanie Naas, 35, and charged her with misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking.

Retail theft – At 12:50 p.m. July 13, police responded to Walmart in North Lebanon Township for a retail theft. The investigation revealed that Michele Bolden, 47, selected a storage tote and concealed 11 items inside the tote. Bolden then exited the store without paying for the merchandise valued at $211.67. Police took Bolden into custody, transported her to LCCB, and charged her with misdemeanor retail theft.

Aggravated assault, DUI, resisting arrest, careless driving – Around 5:51 p.m. July 14, police responded to the area of North 8th Avenue and Roberts Circle for a report of a crash. When police arrived on the scene, they found that the driver, Aden Slish, 20, had struck a road sign and a residence. After an investigation, police arrested Slish for DUI. While police attempted to apprehend Slish, he resisted arrest and later assaulted an officer. Police charged Slish with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor DUI, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and summary careless driving.

Warrant served – On July 16, a warrant was served on David Hartman, 57, for a felony retail theft charge stemming from an incident that occurred on May 15 at Walmart in North Lebanon Township in which Hartman stole $198.00 worth of merchandise.

Criminal trespass, public drunkenness – At 5:28 p.m. July 17, police responded to the Fairfield Inn & Suites in North Cornwall Township for an intoxicated female subject. The investigation revealed that Sylvia Simmons, 33, created a disturbance and was advised to leave the property by hotel management. Simmons refused to leave the property and was taken into custody, charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and summary public drunkenness, and transported to LCCB.

Harassment, disorderly conduct, driving while suspended, careless driving – At 10:28 a.m. July 21, police responded to the 200 block of South 23rd Street in North Cornwall Township for an assault. The investigation revealed that a 20-year-old man approached another male subject and instigated a fight. During the fight, the instigating man struck the other male subject. Police charged the instigating man with summary harassment, summary disorderly conduct, summary driving while suspended, and summary careless driving.

Disorderly conduct – At 1 p.m. July 21, police responded to the 800 block of Helen Drive in North Cornwall Township for a male subject committing a lewd act in a parking lot. After an investigation, police identified the 58-year-old man and charged him with summary disorderly conduct.

Harassment – Around 3:36 p.m. July 24, police responded to a harassment complaint on the 2000 block of Greystone Drive. When police arrived on the scene, they found that the party was threatened over text messages by a 42-year-old woman. Police charged the woman with summary harassment as a result of the investigation.

Simple assault, harassment – At 5:40 p.m. July 26, police responded to the 100 block of Blackford Boulevard in North Cornwall Township for a domestic. The investigation revealed that David Pluchinsky, 43, assaulted a female subject, causing injury. Police took Pluchinsky into custody, charged him with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment, and transported him to LCCB.

Warrant served – On July 31, a warrant was served on Elvin Vazquez-Ramos, 46, for a felony retail theft charge stemming from an incident that occurred on June 28 at Kohl’s in North Cornwall Township in which Vazquez-Ramos stole merchandise.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle accident – At 6:10 p.m. June 27, an unknown vehicle struck a utility pole on the 600 block of South Railroad Street. The vehicle continued to leave the scene of the crash. The cable line connected to the utility pole was pulled, causing damage to a residence near the scene of the crash. It is unknown whether the driver sustained injuries or the vehicle sustained damage.

Criminal mischief under $1,000 – At 2:48 p.m. July 25, state police responded to West Center Avenue for a report of a damaged sign.

North Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident – At 9:07 p.m. July 24, police responded to the 100 block of Killinger Road for a crash involving a struck deer. The 45-year-old Emmaus male driver stated that he was unable to avoid striking the deer when it ran into his lane of travel. The driver sustained no injuries, but his vehicle was unable to be driven and was towed from the scene.

Vehicle accident, limitations on backing – At 4:55 p.m. July 27, police responded to a crash without injuries on the 00 block of Sandy Drive in Annville. The investigation determined that a vehicle driven by a 49-year-old Palmyra woman was backing out of a driveway when a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old Palmyra woman was traveling east on Sandy Drive. The backing vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way to the driving vehicle, which resulted in a reportable crash. Police charged the driver of the backing vehicle with limitations on backing.

Hit-and-run, careless driving – Police investigated a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 4 p.m. July 30 on the 100 block of Eisenhower Road. The striking vehicle struck two mailboxes at the scene. A description of a maroon-colored vehicle was provided. The striking vehicle was found at a residence on Eisenhower Road. The 82-year-old Palmyra female driver admitted to striking the mailboxes. Police charged the woman with careless driving.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle accident investigation – At 1:51 a.m. July 27, police responded to the area of Horseshoe Pike and Hinkle Road for a complaint of debris in the roadway. After conducting a follow-up investigation, police located vehicle-related debris in the area, seemingly indicating a crash. Police later located a vehicle that presented damage that was consistent with earlier findings. The investigation is ongoing.

Union Township

Theft of vehicle parts – At 3:29 p.m. June 28, state police responded to Old Forge Road for a 59-year-old Breinigsville man’s report of a stolen compressor and a vandalized 2019 utility trailer.

Western Lebanon County Regional

Drug possession – Police charged James Remmick, 54, with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident around 1:19 a.m. July 14 on the 00 block of West Main Street in Palmyra.

Bench warrants served, drug possession – At 11:55 a.m. July 16, police were called to the 300 block of East Main Street in Palmyra for a suspicious person. Police arrived and located John Bosack, 29, who was found to have two bench warrants out of Allegheny County. He was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bosack was transported to LCCB on the warrants and was separately charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Electric scooters, e-bikes, and motorized pedalcycles – The Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department is posting this to educate community members on electric scooters, e-bikes, and motorized pedalcycles. The police department is asking that you become familiar with the state laws regulating their operation. See the fact sheet provided by PennDOT below. The sheet can be summarized as follows:

  • Electric-powered scooters cannot be ridden anywhere but on private property.
  • Motorized pedalcycles require the following:
    • The operator to be a minimum of 16 years old and have a valid license.
    • The operator to have insurance.
    • The motorized pedalcycle to have registration.
    • The motorized pedalcycle to be inspected.
  • E-bikes require the following:
    • The operator to be a minimum of 16 years old.
    • The electric motor to be under 750 watts.
    • The e-bike not to be capable of going faster than 20 mph on a level surface when using motor power alone.
    • The e-bike to have functional pedals.
    • The e-bike not to exceed 100 pounds.

Owners and riders should be aware that any device legally permitted to operate on a public roadway must follow all rules of the road just like a motor vehicle (one-way streets, speed limits, stop signs, red lights, etc.). Enforcement for violating these rules could result in receiving traffic citations.
