Lebanon Transit officials announced today that they will be conducting a Fixed Route on-board rider satisfaction survey during the week of October 6. Riders can be interviewed by staff, fill out a paper survey, or scan a QR code to complete an online version. English and Spanish versions will be available.
The transit authority conducts rider surveys every three years, in partnership with PennDOT, to get to the heart of local transit customers’ satisfaction with service, transit usage, and priorities for improvements.
The survey comes at an opportune time. Lebanon Transit announced earlier this year it is exploring how to connect Fixed Route service between Lebanon and Reading. Surveys conducted with residents in ELCO showed ample support for that connection. Now, existing customers get to have their say about the transit system.
The 23-question survey will provide insight into key focus areas, including:
- Who is riding transit?
- How do riders use the system?
- What are riders most or least satisfied with?
- What should the Lebanon Transit Authority focus on to improve rider experience?
Rider satisfaction surveys played a critical role in the past, leading Lebanon Transit to increase on-time performance by eliminating rail crossings, and to increase evening service.
