New Oil Paintings by Nationally Recognized Local Artist Robert Heilman at Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery
Free | 5-8 p.m., Friday, October 3 | 847 Cumberland St., Lebanon
Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery is proud to present the newest body of work by nationally recognized local oil painter, Robert Heilman. Heilman is a cornerstone of the Lebanon County art community and one of Lebanon County’s most accomplished and respected artists. The exhibition will be on view throughout October and November, beginning with an opening reception on First Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and remaining on exhibit until Saturday, Nov. 29.
Recognized for his masterful treatment of light and shadow, Heilman’s paintings in oil are often described as photo-realistic. Yet, to the artist, his work is not about replicating a scene with technical precision, but about capturing its presence and substance. His subjects—ranging from quiet nocturnal townscapes to serene pastoral landscapes—are rendered with a sensitivity that evokes both stillness and intimacy.
Intentionally absent of human figures, Heilman’s paintings resist narrative interpretation. Instead, they invite viewers to experience the essential qualities of place: its mood, its atmosphere, and the emotions it stirs. His newest works continue this exploration, offering viewers another opportunity to engage with art that lingers in memory long after it is seen.
Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery has been serving the regional artistic community since 1999. Aside from professional and quality archival custom framing, its gallery regularly features exhibitions of local artists, as well as unique handcrafted gift items, such as jewelry, paintings, ceramics, sculptures, and more.
For more information, contact the Lebanon Picture Frame & Fine Art Gallery at 717-279-7725 or info@LebanonPictureFrame.com.

First Friday Art Walk at Pho Bar & Grill
7 p.m., Friday, October 3 | 103 W. Main St., Annville
Genres and conventional approaches to songwriting are a thing of the past, a dying art. While this may be the bane and disapproval of many modern music listeners’ experience, an artist like Alex Stanilla uses this approach as inspiration. Stanilla’s music seems to be the result of the internet age and having access to a number of different forms of media at any time. Stanilla’s songs are equal parts electro-pop, hip hop, alternative rock, and jazz with an assorted number of glitches, synth howls, and shouted vocals making their way through the sonic landscape of his songs.
Stanilla’s latest album, “Qualia,” has been described as the lovechild of “The Beach Boys and Bastille,” and he’s described it as an “impression.” “It’s like making an experimental film, very little thought to how things should transpire, but just going to the strangest places possible.” Stanilla already has another E.P. and a full-length ready to be released in the coming months and sees this time in his life as a “musical purge.” For anyone who likes their pop music homemade and created with a great deal of heart and intention, Stanilla’s music is highly recommended.

Palmyra’s Great Give at Virtual
Free | 12 a.m.-11:59 p.m., Thursday, October 9 | Palmyra
For seven years, Palmyra’s Great Give has been more than just a fundraiser—it’s been a day where generosity unites an entire community. On Thursday, Oct. 9, neighbors, families, and businesses will come together for the area’s only 24-hour online giving day, rallying behind more than 20 local nonprofits that touch lives across Palmyra and the surrounding areas.
It’s a day that celebrates the heart of our hometown—the volunteers who pour their energy into causes they love, the nonprofits that feed families, inspire youth, protect animals, and preserve green spaces, and the donors who show that even the smallest gift can spark something extraordinary.
Every dollar given during Palmyra’s Great Give stays local, directly fueling the programs and organizations that strengthen our community. With match minute sponsors doubling donations, prize challenges adding excitement, and live community updates throughout the day, it’s not just giving—it’s an experience of hope, connection, and impact.
In a time when the world can feel divided, Palmyra’s Great Give reminds us of the power of unity. One day. One community. One big impact.
