The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will stock approximately 116,500 rainbow, brown and brook trout in 118 stream sections and lakes statewide through mid-December. Lebanon County waters are scheduled to receive rainbow trout Nov. 6 at two locations: the State Route 934 bridge over Quittapahilla Creek and Stoever’s Dam.

“Anglers who take advantage of stocked trout opportunities during the fall are treated to beautiful scenery and some of the most comfortable temperatures of the year,” said Brian Niewinski, director of the commission’s Bureau of Hatcheries.

The commission will stock approximately 89,000 adult trout in 93 waters during October, including 53 lakes and 40 stream sections. An additional 25 lakes will receive approximately 28,600 trout in November and December.

Trout stocked during fall and winter can be fished immediately. The extended trout season, which began Sept. 2, continues through Feb. 16, 2026. During this period, anglers may keep three trout of combined species with a minimum size of 7 inches on designated stocked trout waters, unless special regulations apply.

Stocking schedules may change due to water temperature fluctuations and hatchery logistics. Anglers should check the schedule regularly at fishandboat.com for updates.

The commission reminds boaters that starting Nov. 1, anyone on boats less than 16 feet long, including canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, must wear a life jacket through April 30.
