Following the receipt of a new boom mower in August, the East Hanover Township Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed to accept the high bid of $30,000 for the township’s old Boom Mower, which was sold on Municibid.
In the motion, supervisors specified that the funds would be designated for future equipment costs.
Township manager Erik Harmon explained over email that the new tractor, a 2025 John Deere Model 6110M Cab Tractor with a 2025 Tiger Bengal Series BB-22 Mid-mount Boom Mower, was purchased this year for $225,208.
Supervisors also unanimously approved the renewal of a CD investment from Gaming Funds. However, supervisors reduced the investment from $300,000 to $200,000 citing tractor and boom mower costs.
This CD reduction has been accounted for as supervisors began to review the draft 2026 budget last week, with no tax increase planned. The next budget meeting will take place Oct. 20 at 7 p.m., with supervisors expecting to adopt the budget in November.
