On Saturday, November 22—the same day as the Lebanon Holiday Parade—St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 22 S. 6th Street, Lebanon, will host their annual holiday bazaar. The public is encouraged to attend this event, which is a local tradition for many families.
The bazaar will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lots of items for sale to satisfy both hungry parade-goers and Christmas shoppers.
A lunch of hot sandwiches and soups will be available in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level of the parish hall.
The Bazaar Marketplace on the main level will offer Polly’s Pantry (delicious homemade jams, jellies, salsa, salad dressings, and other delicacies), The Sweet Shoppe (homemade candy, cookies, pies, breads, and other items just in time for the holidays), a used book sale, and a chance to win one of the interesting theme raffle baskets that have been assembled.
This year the church will hold a special “vintage items” raffle featuring a beautiful handmade quilt.
There will also be a “Children’s Corner” with fun activities for kids. Parents are invited to bring their children from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free photos with Santa using their own camera or smartphone. The church will be open to tour and there will be live music offered through the day.
“This annual event is always a great way to connect with our neighbors,” says Steve Doster, senior warden of the church. “It also helps us raise funds to support both our parish ministries and those in the wider community while offering a fun holiday experience.”
Ahead of the bazaar, a team of parishioners will work to transform the church auditorium into a holiday wonderland, ready for the display of treats and gifts. This year they will have help from members of Boy Scout Troop 20 of Myerstown, PA.
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is located on 6th Street between Chestnut and Cumberland Streets with entrances on 6th Street. The buildings are accessible for those with mobility challenges by way of the recently renovated Chestnut Street entrance and an elevator in the rear of the church that accesses all levels.
