Bethel Township

Vehicle accident – At 5:01 a.m. Oct. 31, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra was traveling north on South Pine Grove Street near Golf Road when a deer ran onto the road. The Hyundai struck the deer in the north lane, which resulted in minor damage to its front end. No injuries were reported.

False alarms – At 9:24 a.m. Nov. 11, police responded to a residence on Mount Zion Road for a residential alarm. No issues were observed, and this was the sixth false alarm within 12 months. Police charged the 76-year-old Lebanon male homeowner with false alarms.

City of Lebanon

DUI – Around 4 a.m. Sept. 28, police pulled over a vehicle on the 00 block of North Partridge Street and arrested Roberto Cheverett, 26, for DUI-alcohol. Police charged Cheverett following the receipt of blood lab results.

Disorderly conduct – Around 4 p.m. Oct. 24, police responded to a report of a fire in a park on the 1300 block of Washington Street. Police determined that the brush fire was started by Luis Alvarado Reyes, 19, who was also in possession of a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia. Police charged Alvarado Reyes with disorderly conduct.

Drug possession – At 4:48 p.m. Nov. 3, police apprehended Richard Hoofnagle, 49, who had an active arrest warrant, at the intersection of 7th and Cumberland streets. During the arrest, police discovered that Hoofnagle was in possession of a controlled substance. Police charged Hoofnagle with possession of a controlled substance.

DUI – Around 3:18 a.m. Nov. 8, police arrested Christopher Shelton, 45, for DUI-alcohol on the 1200 block of Walton Street after they found him sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle. Shelton’s driver’s license was suspended at the time of the incident.

Driving while suspended, drug possession – Around 10:39 p.m. Nov. 9, police pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of Spruce and Lehman streets. The vehicle was driven by Christopher Shelton, 45, who was known to have a suspended driver’s license. Police also discovered a controlled substance in the vehicle and charged Shelton with driving while suspended and possession of a controlled substance.

Simple assault – Around 1:16 a.m. Nov. 11, police responded to the 800 block of North 7th Street for a domestic and took Payton Holmes, 21, into custody for simple assault (domestic violence-related).

Evading arrest or detention on foot – Around 1:18 a.m. Nov. 12, police took Jose Torres-Morales, 33, into custody on the 200 block of North 7th Street. Torres-Morales attempted to flee from police on foot after being informed of an active warrant for his arrest. Following a brief pursuit, police apprehended Torres-Morales and charged him with evading arrest or detention on foot.

Theft by unlawful taking – On Nov. 12, police charged Christopher Harman, 47, with theft by unlawful taking for stealing two vehicles, the at around 3:30 a.m. Nov. 10 on the 100 block of North Partridge Street and the second around 2:29 p.m. Nov. 11 on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street. Both stolen vehicles were recovered.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:23 a.m. Nov. 2, a 2020 Ford Escape driven by a 33-year-old Newmanstown man was traveling north on SR 897 when it swerved to avoid a vehicle in the north lane and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported, although the Ford was disabled.

Jackson Township

Theft – Between Nov. 6 and 7, someone stole three 10-ton posted bridge signs, valued at $500, on South Ramona Road between US 422 and the bridge that spans Tulpehocken Creek. Anyone with information should contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

Lebanon County Regional

Retail theft – Police charged Henry Spitler, 55, with felony retail theft after multiple incidents at Weis Markets in North Lebanon Township between July 26 and Oct. 17, during which time Spitler stole a total of $3,984.50 worth of groceries.

Drug possession, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness – At 1:37 a.m. Aug. 23, police were on patrol in the area of Rutter’s in West Lebanon Township when they observed a disturbance in the parking lot. The investigation revealed that Joshua Erausquin-Maysonet, 37, was intoxicated, creating a scene, and damaging property. Police took Erausquin-Maysonet into custody and found him to be in possession of a controlled substance and related paraphernalia. Police charged Erausquin-Maysonet with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, summary disorderly conduct, and summary public drunkenness and issued a warrant against him.

Simple assault, DUI, drug possession – At 1:03 a.m. Sept. 7, police responded to the area of the 1500 block of Sandhill Road in North Lebanon Township for a disturbance after Christian Mejias-Vazquez, 28, was involved in a crash. Mejias-Vazquez fled the scene and was stopped a short time later by an officer. It was determined that Mejias-Vazquez assaulted a female subject during the incident. He was also found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police charged Mejias-Vazquez with misdemeanor simple assault, two counts of misdemeanor DUI-alcohol or controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a small amount of marijuana, summary driving on roadways laned for traffic, summary accidents involving damage to unattended property, and summary careless driving.

Harassment – Police investigated a harassment incident at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at Heisey’s Diner in North Lebanon Township, where a 61-year-old man struck a female subject. Police charged the man with summary harassment.

Disorderly conduct – At 4 a.m. Nov. 2, police responded to The Hearth Diner in North Cornwall Township after two women, ages 23 and 27, engaged in a fight. Police charged both women with summary disorderly conduct.

North Londonderry Township

DUI, drug possession – Police charged Connor Burns, 21, of Harrisburg, with multiple counts of misdemeanor DUI, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary duties at stop signs. Charges stem from a traffic stop at 3:13 a.m. July 25 in the area of Cambridge Road in Palmyra. Burns’ BAC was 0.17%, with THC in his blood.

Vehicle accident, careless driving – At 5:34 a.m. Nov. 7, police responded to the area of the Beer Cove for a single-vehicle crash. Police made contact with the 19-year-old Annville driver of a 2019 Lexus NX300, who reported that he was traveling west on SR 422 when he fell asleep behind the wheel. His vehicle left the road, striking multiple fixed objects before coming to a stop in the parking lot of the Beer Cove. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Police charged the driver with summary careless driving and summary expired inspection.

Driving vehicle at safe speed – Police charged a 20-year-old Annville man with summary driving vehicle at safe speed following a crash at 10:15 p.m. Nov. 9, when the man’s vehicle struck a curb after turning onto Colony Drive from Fir Street and lost control on a wet road.

Vehicle accident, duty to give information and render aid – Police investigated a crash that occurred at 3:48 p.m. Nov. 10 in the area of Main Street and Apple Blossom Lane. A vehicle driven by an 86-year-old Lebanon man struck the rear of a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old Lebanon woman. There were no injuries. The man left the scene without providing contact and insurance information. Police charged the man with summary duty to give information and render aid.

Union Township

Hit-and-run crash – Police determined that around 3:18 a.m. Nov. 7, a 2002 Honda Civic driven by a 50-year-old Manheim man was traveling west on Moonshine Road when it exited the road and drove head-on into a guide rail on the right side of the road, then turned and struck a guide rail on the left side of the road. The Honda sustained disabling damage. The driver fled the scene. It is unknown whether the driver sustained any injuries.

Vehicle accident – At 4:26 a.m. Nov. 7, a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a 22-year-old Lebanon woman was traveling west on Allentown Boulevard, east of Hill Drive, when it struck a deer in the lane. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. WM Carroll Towing assisted on the scene.

Western Lebanon County Regional

DUI, driving while suspended, summary traffic violations – On Oct. 14, police pulled over a vehicle on the 100 block of West Main Street in Palmyra for traffic violations. Police identified the driver as Mark Zika, 53, who was visibly intoxicated, and arrested him for DUI. Police learned he had a suspended driver’s license due to prior DUI convictions. Lab results later showed that Zika had a BAC of 0.271%. Police charged Zika with felony DUI-highest rate, fourth offense, felony DUI-incapable of safe driving, fourth offense, summary driving while suspended, DUI-related, and three more summary traffic violations.

Simple assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, public drunkenness – Around 12:14 a.m. Oct. 18, police responded to the 500 block of South Duke Street in Palmyra for an altercation. Police charged Jazz Laudermilch, 28, with misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, misdemeanor criminal mischief, and summary public drunkenness. Police also charged Deandre Quiero, 28, with misdemeanor simple assault.

Disorderly conduct, harassment, confinement of dog on premises – On Nov. 6, police responded to the 300 block of West Main Street in Annville for a dog running loose. Police found a subject, later identified as David Gonzalez, 38, screaming at the complainant. During the incident, Gonzalez refused to maintain control of his dogs, yelled, interfered with the investigation, and threatened to assault officers. Police arrested Gonzalez, transported him to LCCB, and charged him with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, summary harassment, and summary confinement of dog on premises.

Aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment – Around 1:18 a.m. Nov. 7, police responded to the 500 block of North Railroad Street in Palmyra for a domestic dispute and determined that Elisha Hoke, 41, struck the other person in the face multiple times, causing injury. While police were on the scene, Hoke struck an EMT. Police took Hoke into custody and transported her to LCCB. Police charged Hoke with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault (domestic violence-related), summary disorderly conduct, and summary harassment.
