Lebanon County Weather has issued a first call for the season’s first winter storm.

Snow is expected to develop very early Tuesday morning, with moderate to heavy snowfall at times that could cause chaos on roadways.

As Lebanon County Weather forecaster Justin Snyder notes, “The first snow of the season always seems to be the most difficult for traveling so I am expecting many delays, especially into the late morning/early afternoon.”

Between 2 and 5 inches are expected, with higher amounts possible in the northern part of the county. Snow should develop around daybreak Tuesday morning and continue through the late morning, with clearing by the early afternoon.

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a winter weather advisory from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

“Hazardous travel is expected for the morning commute on Tuesday, with a plowable snow expected areawide,” said the NWS about the advisory that affects all of Central PA.

Lebanon County Weather is also monitoring another system that could bring more snow to the area into the weekend.
