Visit Lebanon Valley has a new president and CEO.

Nancy Gates, of Palmyra, has assumed the leadership role, according to a press release Monday, Dec. 8, from Lebanon County’s destination marketing agency. She has more than two decades of leadership experience across corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors, the release said.

“Gates brings a proven record of success in tourism, marketing, and community engagement,” the agency said in the release, noting that she “has built a distinguished career driving tourism growth, innovative events, and community engagement.”

She replaces Jennifer Kuzo, who became president and CEO of Visit Lebanon Valley in 2017. Kuzo announced her retirement in August.

According to the release, Gates doubled attendance at the AACA Museum in Hershey, created programs like Trick or Treat Trek and a Park Rx series of wellness programs in Dauphin County, and led Hershey Entertainment initiatives including Hersheypark in the Dark, Haunted Harvest, and Hershey Sweet Lights.

“Her leadership has generated millions annually through strategic partnerships and national promotions at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company, while her work with Dauphin County Parks & Recreation introduced wellness and outdoor programs that continue to enrich the community,” the release said.

Gates holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown College and has been recognized with honors including the Hershey Harrisburg Regional Visitors Bureau’s Very Important Partner Award and the SkillsUSA Business & Industry Award.

“Nancy’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Visit Lebanon Valley,” board chairman Rick Stammel said in a statement. “Her strategic leadership, creativity, and passion for connecting people to place will strengthen Lebanon Valley’s position as a premier destination for visitors and residents alike.”

Gates lives in Palmyra with her husband Rich and has two daughters.

“As someone who’s called Lebanon County home for over 25 years, I’m honored to lead Visit Lebanon Valley into its next chapter. This region is rich with stories, spirit, and opportunity – and I’m excited to celebrate everything that makes the Lebanon Valley unique,” Gates said in a statement. “Tourism is more than travel – it’s about building pride, creating connection, and supporting our local economy. I look forward to working alongside our partners to grow Lebanon Valley as a premier destination filled with authentic and unforgettable experiences.”
