The Lebanon County Coalition to End Homelessness has issued a Code Blue Alert that will begin at 12 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, and last until 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9.
The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory starting 4 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday warning of very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected.
Gusty winds are expected that could blow around unsecured objects and cause tree limbs to be blown down and cause potential power outages.
Forecasters warn that the dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Any individuals or families who are unsheltered are encouraged to contact the Lebanon County Community Action Partnership for assistance in finding temporary overnight accommodations.
The Lebanon County Community Action Partnership can be reached Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by phone at 717-273-9328 or in person at 220 E. Lehman St., Lebanon.
