Palmyra Borough manager Roger Powl retired from his position on Friday, Feb. 6.
Assistant borough manager Brenda Pera confirmed the news to LebTown on Monday.
At Palmyra Borough Council’s 2026 reorganization meeting, Powl had been reappointed as borough manager until the first Monday of January 2028. Reasons for the apparent early retirement were not immediately clear.
Asked whether she was acting borough manager, Pera said as of now she is still the assistant borough manager. According to meeting minutes, Pera’s current appointment as assistant borough manager lasts through her planned retirement on Jan. 5, 2027.
Palmyra Borough Council meets next Tuesday, Feb 10, when they will decide next steps.
Powl was not immediately reachable by LebTown for comment.
