The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will stock approximately 3.2 million adult trout in 684 streams and 130 lakes across the state this year, including tens of thousands here in Lebanon County.
“With spring fishing opportunities right around the corner, every angler can benefit from knowing when their favorite stream or lake will be stocked with trout, starting in just a few weeks,” Brian Niewinski, director of the PFBC’s Bureau of Hatcheries, said in a press release.
“Reviewing the stocking schedule now can help you plan a day of volunteering to help stock trout or simply plan ahead for a successful Mentored Youth Trout Day, Opening Day, or some early trout fishing along a special regulation water.”
The statewide Opening Day of Trout Season will be held on Saturday, April 4. A statewide Mentored Youth Trout Day will take place on Saturday, March 28.
With the exception of Mentored Youth Trout Fishing Day and Stocked Trout Waters Open to Year-Round Fishing, fishing is not permitted on lakes and streams designated as Stocked Trout Waters from Feb. 17 to opening day.

Stony Creek and Lakeside Quarry (Lakeside Park) are the only stocked trout waters open to year-round fishing in Lebanon County.
Stocking returns this year to Lions Lake following cancellations last year due to maintenance and repairs to the dam.
Stocking dates, meeting places, times, and species are listed below. Where applicable, upper and lower limits are noted.
Stocking schedules may change due to water temperature fluctuations and hatchery logistics. Anglers should check the schedule regularly at fishandboat.com for updates.
