The North Cornwall Township Board of Supervisors unanimously agreed on Tuesday to advertise a 2026 flow metering project.
Supervisors unanimously approved a $73,759.32 meter quote for the project and advertisement for installation, which will include a conduit and a new manhole. The project will include four water meters, two in North Cornwall and two in West Cornwall.
The project will be paid for out of a 2022-approved American Rescue Plan Act grant totaling $141,000, which township manager Justin Thompson said he expects will cover all or nearly all project costs.
The project will be bid on PennBid starting March 27, with expected bid acceptance during the board’s April 7 meeting.
Supervisors unanimously approved a waiver request from Meadow Lane Farms, which sought permission to install two signs in the right of way by the development, behind a landscape buffer.
The waiver, for installation of a sign five feet or less from the right of way, was approved contingent on documentation that it will be the homeowner’s association’s responsibility to fix the sign if it is damaged, including from township equipment.
The developer plans to install one sign off 22nd Street and one off Walnut Street. Tom Fuentes of Richmar Builders explained that the developer has received multiple requests for additional signage from residents over the last year, in particular from elderly residents.
In other news, supervisors:
- Informally agreed to begin discussions with Comcast through Cohen Law Group on the Cable Franchise Agreement, which is set to expire June 1, 2027.
- Unanimously approved minutes and the treasurer’s report, with supervisor William Yeagley abstaining from specific checks.
North Cornwall Township Board of Supervisors meet the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and do not require prior registration.
