Vehicle accident, driving while suspended – At 12:24 a.m. April 1, a 22-year-old Lebanon man was thrown from a 2006 Kawasaki Ex650A after he lost control over a hill on the 1000 block of Houtztown Road. The man was wearing a motorcycle helmet, sustained injuries of unknown severity, and was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to Hershey Medical Center. Police charged the man with summary driving while suspended, second or subsequent violation.

City of Lebanon

Simple assault – Around 6:15 p.m. April 10, police responded to the 600 block of North 6th Street for a domestic disturbance and observed a person with a visible injury. Police charged Staisy Martinez-Severino, 20, with simple assault (domestic violence-related).

Simple assault – Around 6 p.m. April 14, police responded to the 500 block of Weidman Street for a domestic disturbance and observed a person with a visible injury. Police charged Daykiece Sheppard, 20, with simple assault (domestic violence-related).

Resisting arrest, drug possession – Around 10:45 p.m. April 14, police observed William Taylor, 42, in the area of Guilford Street and North Lincoln Avenue. Police said he had an active warrant for his arrest out of another county. Taylor attempted to resist an officer’s efforts to place him under arrest after being advised of the warrant. Police took Taylor into custody and discovered he had a controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia on his person. Police charged Taylor with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

Lebanon City Police bowl for kids’ sake – On Thursday, April 16, the Lebanon City Police laced up their bowling shoes and hit the lanes at Palmyra Bowling Alley for Bowl for Kids’ Sake. Police will skip the scorecards … but trust them, it was a great time for an even better cause! The event supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, and police were proud to be part of the fun and are already counting down to next year!

Heidelberg Township

Theft – Between 4 p.m. March 26 and 6 a.m. March 27, a utility trailer was accessed at a construction site on the 200 block of Albright Road. Multiple Milwaukee brand tools, including a hammer drill, staple gun, knock-out set, drill, impact drill, and sawzall, were stolen. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194.

Vehicle accident – At 8:37 a.m. April 9, a 23-year-old Lebanon man fell asleep behind the wheel of a 2018 Kia Soul and drifted into oncoming traffic. The Kia exited the west side of the road and impacted a boulder in the yard of a home on the 1400 block of Stiegel Pike. The Kia overturned and damaged the porch before coming to a rest in the front yard. The driver and the 19-year-old Newmanstown male passenger were wearing seatbelts and sustained no injuries. The Kia was towed from the scene by Blatt & Tillett. Schaefferstown Fire Company and Fire Police assisted on the scene.

Jackson Township

Vehicle accident – At 1:45 a.m. April 2, a 2020 Kenworth Truck struck a cow while traveling south on the 1200 block of South College Street. The truck sustained damage to its front bumper and was drivable.

Lebanon County Regional

Arrest warrant issued – Around 3:38 p.m. March 5, police responded to Boscov’s in Lebanon, where Boscov’s loss prevention team said a retail theft occurred around 11:10 a.m. March 4. Police identified the subject as Tyler Fillak, 30, who is known to be unhoused. Police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Harassment – At 1:41 p.m. April 4, police responded to Walmart Fuel Center in North Lebanon Township for an assault. Police said a juvenile called another subject a racial slur and threw a cup of coffee and cigarettes onto two people, one of whom is an elderly woman. With the assistance of the public, police identified the 17-year-old male and contacted him and his parents. Police charged the juvenile with two counts of summary harassment.

Arrest warrant served – Police arrested Luis Javier-Alcantara, 34, on April 10 after he turned himself in on a warrant, with the original charge being possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Bench warrant served – Following a traffic stop, police arrested the driver, Shatique Batista, 32, on April 11 in the area of Tunnel Hill Road and Windsor Drive on a warrant out of the Lebanon County Sheriff’s Department from 2016. Police transported Batista to LCCB.

Arrest warrant served – Police arrested Tyler Fillak, 30, on April 13 after he turned himself in on a warrant, with the original charge being retail theft.

Kids N Kops Luncheon – On Thursday, April 9, Cpl. Houser and Patrolman Coyt attended a luncheon with 4th graders at Union Canal Elementary School. Through this longstanding program at the school, titled the 3 “A’s,” students are recognized for their accomplishments with Attitude, Attendance, and Academic Performance, and they are provided with the opportunity to talk with a police officer while enjoying lunch. The police department wants to thank Principal McGinty for continuing this program, as its officers always look forward to talking with the kids while keeping them safe!

South Londonderry Township

Defiant trespass – At 11:37 a.m. March 29, police responded to the 00 block of Woodridge Drive in Palmyra for a trespassing complaint. Residents reported that Joseph Christman, 41, of Schuylkill Haven, trespassed on the property for a second time after receiving a trespass notice. Police charged Christman with misdemeanor defiant trespass.

Vehicle accident – At 4:14 p.m. March 31, police responded to the 2700 block of Horseshoe Pike in Palmyra for a multi-vehicle crash with injuries. A vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Lebanon man rear-ended an eastbound vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Annville man before traveling into oncoming traffic and colliding with a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Hershey woman. One driver was transported to a hospital for evaluation. Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid & Safety Patrol of Lebanon assisted on the scene.

Death investigation – At 2:40 p.m. April 14, police conducted a well-being check at a home on the 300 block of Timber Lane in Mount Gretna and discovered a deceased female resident. Police remained on the scene until the completion of an autopsy, as it was an ongoing investigation. The incident was confined to one residence, and police said nearby residents were not in danger.

Swatara Township

Vehicle accident – At 12:42 a.m. March 28, a 2014 Acura TSX driven by a 24-year-old Lebanon man was traveling south on Grace Avenue, west of Monroe Avenue. The Acura merged into the northbound lane, exited the road off the left shoulder, and struck a utility pole. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The Acura sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Charges of DUI-unsafe driving against the man are pending investigation.

Vehicle accident – At 1:50 p.m. March 31, a 2024 Jeep Cherokee was attempting to make a left turn onto Old Jonestown Road from New Bunkerhill Road and sideswiped a 2023 Toyota Highlander that was at the stop sign. Both vehicles sustained functional damage. The Jeep was towed from the scene by Motter’s Towing due to a flat tire. The Toyota left the scene under its own power.

DUI – Police charged a 33-year-old Jonestown man with DUI after he operated a black 2016 Chevrolet Suburban at 1:50 a.m. April 5 on North Mill Street while under the influence of alcohol.

Western Lebanon County Regional

Bench warrant served – Around 3:15 a.m. April 11, police responded to the 200 block of North Chestnut Street in Palmyra for a noise complaint. Police found one of the involved subjects, Ricky Arroyo, 61, had an active bench warrant out of the York County Sheriff’s Department, took him into custody, and transported him to LCCB.
