Two Lebanon County parents have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child following the death of their 6-day-old son in December.

Pennsylvania State Police at Jonestown said 35-year-old Martin Deimler and 37-year-old Connie Deimler were charged Wednesday after an investigation that began Dec. 12, when troopers were called to assist EMS at a home on Webster School Road in East Hanover Township for a report of the infant’s death.

During the investigation, troopers learned the couple also had a daughter who was in the care of her aunt. Lebanon County Children and Youth Services made contact with the girl and determined she had been nutritionally and medically neglected, police said.

The boy’s death was attributed to a lack of medical care, according to police.

Charges of endangering the welfare of a child were approved by the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office. Both parents face two felony charges, with court documents noting that a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday.
