May is shaping up to be one of the liveliest months of the year at the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds, with a lineup that stretches from garden beds to dog show rings to high-horsepower dirt tracks — and plenty in between.

Master Gardeners Plant Sale & Garden Faire — Saturday, May 2

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County return with their annual Plant Sale & Garden Faire, themed “Right Plant, Right Place, Right Practice.” The sale features a wide selection of native plants, annuals, perennials, tomatoes, peppers, vegetables, and herbs suited to the Lebanon County climate — a great fit for gardeners of all experience levels.

Beyond the plants themselves, shoppers can browse a “green elephant” section stocked with gently used gardening items, tools, and plants. Certified Master Gardeners will also be on hand to offer advice on plant selection and care, whether you’re working with a sunny backyard or a shaded corner plot.

Cash, check, and credit card payments are accepted. Proceeds benefit the Penn State Extension Master Gardener Program’s educational and community outreach efforts throughout Lebanon County.

The Lancaster Kennel Club brings its 82nd Annual Red Rose Classic All Breed Dog Show and Rally Trials to the Expo Center for a two-day showcase featuring over 500 dogs competing across breeds for the coveted Best In Show title. Founded in 1921, the Lancaster Kennel Club was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 2023 as a Centennial Club for its more than 100 years of existence.

Friday’s action kicks off with the Rally trial at 1 p.m. in West Hall. Saturday features a full day of judging and Rally trials starting at 8 a.m. New this year is the Pee Wee Special Attraction, designed for children between 5 and 9 years of age — making this an especially family-friendly outing. Vendors and concessions will be available throughout the event.

A few things to note: only dogs entered in the show are permitted on site, and strollers are not allowed in the show or grooming areas due to safety concerns. Detailed ring times for Breed, Best of Group, and Best of Show judging will be posted at www.raudogshows.com/judging-programs/ in early May.
