A short stretch of Grace Avenue (Route 1003), south of Jonestown Borough in Swatara Township, will be reduced to a single lane for much of next week, and the segment will be closed entirely to traffic for a month beginning June 1.
Road restrictions will allow the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to replace a large concrete drainage pipe in the area. Maintenance crews will prepare the site next week, weather permitting, with the roadway reduced to one lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
The road will be closed in June, beginning Monday, June 1. Traffic will be detoured using Horst Drive, Route 72 (Ebenezer Road), and Thompson Avenue.
