Annville Township
Fire investigation – Around 4:22 a.m. June 1, Union Hose Company of Annville responded to 202 W. Main St., Annville Township, for a smoke investigation. Fire department units confirmed a fire and requested a second alarm. Multiple fire companies from Lebanon County responded as mutual aid to assist. At 5:08 a.m., command requested a third alarm response and requested the state police fire marshal to respond to conduct an origin and cause investigation.
The fire marshal determined the fire originated in the kitchen, among multiple kitchen appliances. A cause has yet to be determined, although evidence and witness statements have ruled out criminal activity. No injuries were reported.
City of Lebanon
Failure to comply with registration requirements – Police charged Wesley Ortiz-Febres, 23, with failure to comply with registration requirements after a Megan’s Law investigation request on March 10.
Simple assault – Police charged Aden Slish, 21, with simple assault (domestic violence-related) after a domestic disturbance at around 11 p.m. May 30 on the 800 block of Willow Street.
Drug possession – Police charged Shannon Kenny, 45, with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police took her into custody on an arrest warrant around 8:30 p.m. June 2 on the 600 block of Chestnut Street.
Driving while suspended – Police charged a 60-year-old man with driving while suspended (DUI-related) after an incident at around 12:20 a.m. June 3 in the area of 7th and Lehman streets.
Public drunkenness – Police charged a 33-year-old man with public drunkenness after an incident at around 10:45 p.m. May 1 on the 200 block of North 5th Street.
Drug possession, disorderly conduct – Police charged a 30-year-old man with possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after an incident at around 4 p.m. May 2 on the 1000 block of Willow Street.

Disorderly conduct – Police charged an 18-year-old man with disorderly conduct after an incident on the 500 block of Guilford Street.
Altercation involving students – Around 10:45 a.m. June 4, Lebanon City Police responded to a fight behind Lebanon High School and found a juvenile with a non-life-threatening stab wound. A preliminary investigation revealed that several students became involved in an altercation behind the school shortly after dismissal. Investigators determined that the juveniles involved were known to one another and the incident was not a random act of violence. The injured juvenile was transported to a medical facility for treatment. Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Sgt. PSA: Parking tickets are getting an upgrade – The Lebanon City Police Department is rolling out a new parking ticket system beginning June 15. While receiving a parking ticket is rarely cause for celebration, the new payment process should make resolving one a little easier. Under the new system, parking tickets will include a QR code that allows recipients to pay online quickly and conveniently. Payments made through the QR code system will be subject to a convenience fee paid to the processing vendor.
During the transition period, you may still receive the familiar orange parking tickets, which remain valid and may be paid using the same payment methods currently available. Not a fan of technology? You can still pay your parking tickets in the following ways:
- In person: Lebanon City Police Department, 735 Cumberland St., Lebanon, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Drop box: A secure payment drop box remains available at the rear of the police department along Spring Street. Envelopes are provided inside the drop box door for visitors and residents submitting cash, checks, or money orders to ensure payments remain secure and properly identified with the ticket.
- Online: Parking tickets may continue to be paid online through CRIMEWATCH or through the new QR code system. Both include convenience fees, which are paid to the processing vendor.

Cleona Borough
Theft by deception –Police said Jaycob Enrigques Morales, of Lebanon, and Jyir Eljah Hrgrove, of Lebanon, committed a theft totaling $5,205 over a two-day period at Eckenrode Rare Coins. Police charged both subjects with theft by deception.
East Hanover Township
Harassment by communication – On June 1, police charged a 24-year-old Lebanon woman with harassment by communication after she attempted to contact her ex-boyfriend, a 44-year-old Grantville man, via phone multiple times after being told to stop contacting him. She also called his place of employment after he blocked her phone.
Jackson Township
Theft by deception – On March 30, an unknown actor hacked a 55-year-old Myerstown woman’s phone by contacting Mint Mobile and switching her e-SIM card to another device, where they were able to access the woman’s online banking information and withdraw $830 from her Chime account.
Lebanon County Regional
Drug possession – At 9:06 p.m. Feb. 21, police attempted to pull over a vehicle on the 2200 block of West Cumberland Street in West Lebanon Township. The vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was located a short time later. Police found two passengers, Sasha Alonso, 27, and Jolin Zimmerman, 22, in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Police charged Alonso and Zimmerman with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
DUI, drug possession – Around 1:40 a.m. Feb. 28, police pulled over a vehicle after observing it cross the center line several times on North 16th Street in West Lebanon Township. Police said the driver, Daniel Snyder, 51, was under the influence of alcohol and was in possession of cocaine. Upon receipt of blood test results, police charged Snyder with two counts of misdemeanor DUI-alcohol or controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and summary driving on roadways laned for traffic.
DUI, reckless driving – Around 3:09 a.m. March 12, police responded to the area of Hill Church Road and Kings Drive in North Lebanon Township for a subject by the road. Police found the man, identified as Kenneth Cheng, 35, staggering along the road and determined that he attempted to drive home from the Annville area while under the influence of alcohol, exited the road, and struck a utility pole, causing moderate damage to the front-end of the vehicle and flattening two tires. Cheng left the scene and drove the vehicle home with disabling damage before walking back to determine what had been hit. Upon receipt of the blood test results, police charged Cheng with two counts of misdemeanor DUI-alcohol or controlled substance, summary accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, and summary reckless driving.
Theft by deception, bad checks – Police charged Kevin Creasy, 42, with felony theft by deception and misdemeanor bad checks in connection with an incident April 24 at Zimmey’s Auto Parts in North Lebanon Township. Police said Creasy presented a check for payment at the business, knowing the financial institution would not honor it. An investigation determined that Creasy acted with the intent to defraud the business.
Theft by deception – On May 1, police investigated a theft that occurred on the 1900 block of Chestnut Street in North Cornwall Township on April 18. Police said Alex Kreiser, 19, stole currency from another person and charged him with misdemeanor theft by deception.
Theft by unlawful taking or disposition, criminal conspiracy – On May 5, police responded to Byler Circle, where it was reported that a scrap hauler was called to remove a grill from a home. The scrap hauler, Bryan Stauffer Sr., 60, who was accompanied by his son, decided to remove a Weber grill valued at $1,200 from a neighbor’s residence on the 200 block of Springwood Drive and then pick up the scrap grill on Byler Circle. Both subjects were stopped by police in their pickup truck, where the Weber grill was in the bed of the truck. The grill was recovered and returned to its owner. Police charged Stauffer with theft by unlawful taking-movable property or disposition and criminal conspiracy.
Recklessly endangering another person – At 9:06 p.m. May 20, police responded to a well-being check on the 1600 block of North 8th Avenue in North Lebanon Township. Police said Robert Gerberich, 65, discharged a firearm in close proximity to another person during the course of an argument, putting the other person in danger of death or serious injury. Police took Gerberich into custody and charged him with misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person.
Theft by unlawful taking or disposition – At 9:30 a.m. May 25, police responded to Walmart in North Lebanon Township after an employee, Andrea Shertzer, 44, stole currency from the register on five occasions. Police charged Shertzer with two counts of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
Harassment – At 11:11 a.m. May 26, police were contacted regarding an ongoing harassment incident at Sheetz in Lebanon. The investigation revealed that a 24-year-old man engaged in a course of conduct to harass another person during April and May. Police charged the man with summary harassment.
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, drug possession – Police charged Janelle Long, 42, with misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an incident on May 28 on the 200 block of Northwest Drive in North Cornwall Township. Police investigated a report that Long had taken her parents’ vehicle without their permission. The investigation revealed that Long operated the vehicle without the owners’ consent and also recovered drug paraphernalia.
Retail theft, corruption of minors – At 6:14 p.m. May 29, police responded to Walmart in North Lebanon Township after Lisa Kafader, 47, and an 11-year-old girl stole store merchandise valued at $190.33. Kafader admitted to using the juvenile to assist her in concealing the merchandise. Police charged Kafader with felony retail theft and misdemeanor corruption of minors.
Retail theft, drug possession – At 2:15 p.m. May 31, police responded to a retail theft at Walmart in North Lebanon Township. The investigation revealed that Wilson Echavarria-Mercado, 41, stole store merchandise and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police arrested him and charged him with misdemeanor retail theft and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
South Lebanon Township
Drug possession, restrictions on alcoholic beverages – On Feb. 25, police pulled over a vehicle on the 2100 block of East Cumberland Street for a vehicle equipment violation and found suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and an open container of alcohol in the area occupied by passenger Jonathan Case, 40. The narcotics were submitted for laboratory analysis and confirmed to be methamphetamine. Police charged Case with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and summary restriction on alcoholic beverages. Police also located drug paraphernalia belonging to the driver, Julie Case, 48, and charged Case with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
DUI – Around 12:01 a.m. May 3, police pulled over a vehicle in the area of South 5th Avenue and Mine Road after observing it commit multiple traffic violations, including failing to maintain its lane and improperly stopping at a stop sign. Police said the driver, Colby Drahovsky, 32, exhibited signs of impairment. Drahovsky admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages prior to driving. Police arrested Drahovsky for DUI and transported him for a legal blood draw. The results later showed that Drahovsky’s BAC was 0.161%. Police charged Drahovsky with misdemeanor DUI-incapable of safe driving and misdemeanor DUI-highest rate of alcohol, 0.16% or greater.
Drug possession – On May 25, police pulled over a vehicle in the area of South Lincoln Avenue and East Evergreen Road for a vehicle equipment violation. Police discovered that a passenger, Alicia Hedges, 40, had an active warrant. After taking her into custody on the warrant, police located suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia belonging to Hedges. The suspected narcotics field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Police charged Hedges with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Terroristic threats, simple assault – On May 29, police investigated a reported domestic violence incident on May 28 at a home in the township. Police said Bradley Lowe, 26, allegedly assaulted a household member by placing his hands around the person’s throat and making threats of further violence. Police documented injuries consistent with the household member’s account. The household member obtained an emergency Protection from Abuse order. Police charged Lowe with misdemeanor terroristic threats and misdemeanor simple assault (domestic violence-related). An arrest warrant was issued on June 1, and Lowe was taken into custody. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
South Londonderry Township
Vehicle accident – At 6:16 a.m. June 3, a Kia sedan driven by a 25-year-old Lebanon woman attempted to make a lane change at the intersection of Route 322 and Schoolhouse Road and struck a westbound pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Lebanon man. The impact caused the truck to strike a utility pole and the Kia to strike a pickup truck driven by a 29-year-old Palmyra man, which was in the left turn lane at the intersection. No injuries were reported. The Kia was towed from the scene.
Swatara Township
Theft by deception – On May 11, a 66-year-old Jonestown woman reported receiving a FedEx package on her porch addressed to another person but with her address. In the package were bank cards from Chime, Cross River Bank, Affirm, and Broxel with her name and the name of the other person. The woman did not suffer any monetary loss.
Union Township
Vehicle accident – At 2:06 p.m. May 30, a 2007 Kia Sedona driven by a 54-year-old Houtzdale man was proceeding from a stop sign on Iron Bridge Road to make a left turn onto Route 72 South as a 2004 Harley-Davidson FXST driven by a 34-year-old Jonestown man was approaching Iron Bridge Road on Route 72. The Kia struck the Harley-Davidson in the intersection. The driver of the Kia was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. The driver of the Harley-Davidson sustained an injury of unknown severity and was transported via Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center. Police charged the driver of the Kia with duties at a stop sign.
Western Lebanon County Regional
Failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements – Charges of felony failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements were filed against Joshua Uhrich, 48, of Palmyra, on May 13. Charges stem from an investigation that began March 5.
Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department is hiring – The Western Lebanon County Regional Police Department is in the process of recruiting qualified candidates for a police officer position. The department is a progressive, accredited law enforcement agency through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association serving the communities of Annville Township and Palmyra Borough. The police department, when fully staffed, has 16 officers and serves a population of about 12,589 citizens in a coverage area of 3.7 miles. Click here to learn more about the position.
Several Lebanon County municipalities
Pennsylvania’s hands-free law is in effect – Police want to remind everyone of Pennsylvania’s hands-free law.
Paul Miller’s Law strictly bans the use of hand-held mobile devices while driving. After a one-year grace period for educational warnings, the law went into full effect on Friday, June 5. Drivers caught holding or supporting a phone with any part of their body face a $50 fine, plus court costs and applicable fees.
Key details and guidelines regarding the mandate include:
- Where it applies: The ban is active on all Pennsylvania roadways and prohibits device use even when temporarily stopped in traffic, at stop signs, or at red lights.
- What is prohibited: You cannot hold, support, text, scroll, or dial your phone while the vehicle is in motion.
- What is allowed: Hands-free technology (such as mounted GPS devices, Bluetooth, or voice-activated commands) remains completely legal. Hand-held use is only permitted if pulled over legally in a safe, stationary location off the active roadway, or if contacting emergency services to protect life and property.
- Enforcement: Police can pull you over as a primary offense for holding a device, meaning no other traffic violation is required for a traffic stop.
Police urge motorists to use their vehicle’s hands-free option if equipped or wait until they can pull safely off the road to use their phone.
