Visit Lebanon Valley reveals eight summer stops on Lilly’s Ice Cream Trail

Inspired by the adventures of mascot Lebanon Lilly, Visit Lebanon Valley has unveiled eight destinations on Lilly’s Ice Cream Trail.

The passport-driven trail is a summer program encouraging visitors to “explore local ice cream destinations, discover scenic countryside views, and enjoy one of the sweetest ways to experience the Valley during the height of summer,” Jane Yorty, event manager for Visit Lebanon Valley, said in a press release.

Lilly’s Ice Cream Trail runs from July 1 through Labor Day, Sept. 7, at eight featured locations.

• Colebrook Crossing, 1550 Mount Wilson Road, Lebanon
• Ice Shack, 707 E. Lincoln Ave., Myerstown
• Jonestown KOA Campground, 11 Lickdale Road, Jonestown
• Patches Family Creamery, 201 Fonderwhite Road, Lebanon
• Pretzel Hut, 2224 Furnace Hill Pike, Newmanstown
• Rainbow Snow, 103 N. Railroad St., Palmyra
• Raub’s Twin Kiss, 361 W. Lincoln Ave., Myerstown
• The Jigger Shop, 202 Gettysburg Ave., Mount Gretna

Participants can pick up a free trail passport at any participating location and begin collecting stamps at each stop, the release explains. There is no cost to participate.

Once all eight locations have been visited and the passport is complete, participants can submit it at their final stop or at Visit Lebanon Valley for a chance to win themed prize packages filled with local gift cards, merchandise, and other “sweet surprises” from participating businesses.

“Is there anything better than enjoying an ice cream cone on a summer day while taking in the beauty of the Lebanon Valley?” asked Nancy Gates, president and CEO of Visit Lebanon Valley. “Lilly’s Ice Cream Trail is a fun way to discover local favorites, support small businesses, and experience the landscapes and agricultural heritage that make our community so unique.”

Lebanon County has long been rooted in agriculture, the release notes, and many of the trail stops celebrate the area’s strong connection to local dairy farming.

“From a cow-to-cone experience to longtime community favorites, the trail highlights businesses that help tell the story of the Lebanon Valley’s agricultural heritage,” the release says. “As visitors travel from one location to the next, they’ll enjoy scenic drives through fertile farmland and charming small towns that showcase the Valley at its summertime best!”

The trail is inspired by Visit Lebanon Valley’s mascot Lebanon Lilly, who is the star of a children’s book series and is known for hopping over her fence to visit friends and explore new adventures throughout the Valley.

Passports are available beginning July 1 at participating locations and at the Visit Lebanon Valley office at 115 Springwood Drive, Suite 500, Lebanon. Completed passports must be submitted by Sept. 7 to be eligible for prize drawings.
