Families with children in Lebanon County who are interested in learning more about growing and preparing garden produce at home are invited to attend “The Community Garden: Build a Healthy Plate,” a free workshop hosted by Penn State Extension.

The workshop will be held:

Monday, August 10, at 5:00 p.m.
Lebanon Valley Family YMCA Community Garden
201 N. 7th St.
Lebanon, PA 17046

During this interactive, family-friendly program, Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County will engage participants in exploring different plant parts, including seeds, roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, through hands-on learning activities.

A Penn State Extension health and wellness educator will also lead participants in preparing crunchy vegetable wraps while sharing practical tips for creating a balanced, nutritious plate using fresh garden produce.

“This workshop offers families a fun opportunity to learn where their food comes from, discover ways to use fresh vegetables, and gain nutrition knowledge they can apply at home,” said Penn State Extension organizers.

Participation is free; however, space is limited and preregistration is required.
