Earl R. “Dick” Winters, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Neffsville Nursing Home. He was the husband of Arlene (Clements) Winters, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Earl was born on Jan. 17, 1939, in Lebanon, PA, to the late Pauline and Emma (Mease) Winters.

He was a graduate of Lebanon High School. Dick worked as a Crew Chief for the Lebanon City Water Department. As Papa, he enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren and making sure they were spoiled as much as possible. In addition, he enjoyed working in his yard and flower gardens and making wooden birdhouses for his wife to paint and hang in their yard to enjoy the variety of birds that came to visit. Upon retirement, he became a regular at Heisey’s Diner every morning to meet up with his buddies for coffee.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Arlene, he is survived by his children, Janet Fields (Bruce) and Darin L. Winters (Kris); his grandchildren, Michael Fields (Keely), Samantha Fields, and Joseph Winters (Mollie); his great-granddaughters, Nora and Maxine Fields; and his siblings, Anna Mae Hostetter and Pauline Longenecker.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Winters, Walter Winters, Grace Kissner, Christine Irwin, and Joanne Smith.

Burial will be in Covenant/Greenwood Cemetery.
