Following an incident this fall at Northern Lebanon High School, a Berks man is facing a third-degree felony charge for unlawful contact with a minor.

Matthew Lord, a 36 year old Bernville resident, is accused of showing a 17 year old victim a picture of his penis on his cell phone. The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 18, about a month into the school year. Lord has been a technology teacher with the district since 2016, and the victim was a student at the time of the incident.

Northern Lebanon School District told WGAL that Lord was placed on administrative leave three days after the incident when allegations of misconduct were first brought to their intention, and that law enforcement were contacted immediately. Lord is currently on unpaid leave pending the outcome of police investigations and legal proceedings against him.

In addition to the unlawful contact charge, Lord also faces charges of corruption of minors and indecent exposure. Unsecured bail was set at $50,000, which has been posted by Lord. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8am on April 4 in front of District Justice Kim Wolfe.

Lord is represented by attorney Matthew Stephen Kopecki of Bentley Gibson Kopecki Smith.
