Bethel Township
In the commission of this crime on Feb. 12 at 9:30 a.m., the Accused, Charles Anderson, a 38-year-old Sparta, TN man, was stopped on I-78 East for a traffic violation. During the stop the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted in which marijuana and a loaded HiPoint 40 caliber semi-auto handgun were seized from the center console. The Accused did not possess a permit to carry a firearm in TN or any other state. SFSTs were also conducted on the Accused. The Accused was placed under arrest and transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for a legal blood draw. The charges of Firearm Not to Be Carried Without a License, Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, DUI Drug Impaired Driving, and traffic violations were completed on the Accused. The Accused was transported to Lebanon County Central Booking to await arraignment. Involved: 2012 Camry.
City of Lebanon
On Jan. 26 at 12:47 a.m., Troopers of PSP Jonestown conducted a traffic stop on the mentioned vehicle. Through investigation the operator, Ociana Browell, an 18-year-old Spring Glen woman, showed signs of impairment of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle yielded controlled substances and related paraphernalia. Charges to be prepared and filed pending lab results. Involved: 2004 Nissan Altima.
Cornwall Borough
Accident – Occurred Saturday, 3:04 PM, at the Cornwall Center intersection. Vehicles driven by a 58-year-old Newmanstown woman; and a 71-year-old Lebanon woman. No injuries. The Lebanon woman’s vehicle was towed.
DUI – Lucas M. Fiddner, age 33, 2136 Penn St., Lebanon, has been charged with DUI and a stop sign violation for an incident August 23, 2019, 8:49 pm, on SR 72 at Zinns Mill Road. His BAC .084%.
Scam – Two residents reported receiving email messages over the weekend that appeared to originate from Chase Bank advising them their account was double charged in the amount of $126.50 and they were eligible for a refund. The message instructed the recipient to click on a link and validate their account information.
Heidelberg Township
On Jan. 15 at 4:39 p.m., Troopers responded to Distillery Road for a report of a theft. The victim related two wedding rings were missing from their residence. This investigation is ongoing. Involved an 87-year-old Newmanstown man and an 85-year-old Newmanstown woman. A silver ring with white diamond in the center (value $2,300) and a gold ring with a diamond in the center (value $300) were taken.
Jackson Township
On Feb. 8 at 2:29 a.m., Troopers of PSP Jonestown assisted members of Myerstown ambulance with an individual for a possible medical call on the 200 block of W Lincoln Ave. Upon arrival on scene the actor exhibited numerous signs of drug related impairment. While trying to identify the actor he was found to be in possession of controlled substances as well as having outstanding warrants. The actor, Dustin Brubaker, a 25-year-old Myerstown man, was taken into custody without further incident.
North Cornwall Township
An accident on Feb. 11 at 4:03 p.m. hours on the parking lot of T J Maxx. Two vehicles were backing out of their parking spots in front of TJ Maxx when the vehicles collided with each other. Vehicles were driven by a 56-year-old Lebanon woman and another 56-year-old Lebanon woman. Minor damage to both vehicles and no injuries reported.
On Feb. 11 at 9:35 p.m. hours, Ashley Ann Freitas, 29, Pottsville and Corey Michael McCabe, 45, Pottsville were charged with Retail Theft after they removed Men’s, Women’s and children’s athletic clothing from the shelves, concealed it on themselves and walked out of Kohl’s, 1261 Quentin Road, failing to pay for the items. Value: $1,115.45
On jan. 26 at 12:08 a.m., police stopped Miguel Angel Mendez, 18, Lebanon for a stop sign violation in the 1600 block of Walnut Street. He was charged with DUI and the Stop Sign Violation.
West Cornwall Township
Accident – Occurred Tuesday, 4:08 PM, at the intersection of Main Street & Lebanon Street in Quentin. Vehicles driven by a 23-year-old Lebanon man; and a 16-year-old Newmanstown teen. No injuries. Both vehicles were towed. The Lebanon man was cited for a stop sign violation.
Scam – A Gretna Springs resident reported to police that he lost approx. $2500 in a computer scam on January 24th. The man reported when he turned on his computer an icon popped up indicating it was infected with a virus. He clicked on what he thought was a Microsoft link to repair the problem and received a call from an individual with a foreign accent telling him his system was infected with adult and child pornography and it would cost him $400 and some gift cards to clean the computer. The victim provided his credit card number, bought some e-bay gift cards and provided the serial numbers from the cards. The victim was then told the cost to clean his computer was underestimated and it would cost an additional $2100 in gift cards to complete the work; he then purchased more gift cards and provided the serial numbers from those cards as well.
Accident – Occurred Monday, 5:21 PM, on Butler Road near Brickplant Lane. A 25-year-old Manheim woman was traveling south on Butler Road when she lost control of her vehicle, ran off the road and struck a tree. She was not injured. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.
Union Township
On Feb. 2 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop Troopers located suspected heroin and it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Richard Figueroa, a 36-year-old Lebanon man, was under the influence. The Arrestee was transported via EMS to Good Samaritan Hospital for a chemical test of blood without incident.
In the commission of this crime on Feb. 7 at 8:39 p.m., PSP Jonestown was contacted by the complainant who observed the Accused’s vehicle driving erratically on SR-72. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted on the Accused, Justin Olano, a 38-year-old Valley View man. During the stop the oder of alcohol was detected coming from the Accused’s breath. SFSTs were conducted on the Accused. The Accused was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and transported to PSP Jonestown. A breath sample was taken showing the Accused’s BAC to be 0.122%. Charges of DUI were filed on the Accused with MDJ Ditzler’s office. Involved: 2007 SAAB 93
On Feb. 2 at 10:34 a.m. Troopers responded to Mayflower Lane for a report of someone who had their vehicles tires slashed. Upon arrival on scene both the front and rear driver’s side tires were slashed. The victim, a 49-year-old Lebanon man, related they believed to know the actor. This investigation is ongoing. Damaged: Two black rubber tires, valued at $200. Involved: 2011 BMW 535 Series.
On Feb. 10 at 7:36 a.m., the victim, a 42-year-old South Dakota man, arrived at PSP-Jonestown wishing to report being the victim of access device fraud. He related while in possession of his Discover credit card, there were four fraudulent attempts, one being successful, at several businesses in Lebanon and Dauphin Counties over the past couple of hours. After obtaining details from Discover and verifying that the account was frozen, he wished to report the theft. PSP-Jonestown is investigating.
