LebTown is featuring a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.

This week’s pet is Laiken, owned by Mike and Heather Carnevale of Lebanon.

As the photo above suggests, since she was a pup Laiken hasn’t turned down a chance to snuggle on the couch with her family (getting under the blanket too!) but don’t get the wrong idea โ€“ this is not Laiken’s “normal” state.

A three year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback, Laiken is the Carnevale family’s pride and joy, with a combo of sass and sweet and boundless energy for running around the yard with her neighborhood dog friends.

Laiken is a fair weather dog, she enjoys walks but despises the rain and wind. Snow, on the other hand, is one of her favorite things!

Laiken sunbathes in the sun on hot summer days and accompanies the family on camping trips.

Alas, life has not been all Kong treats and belly rubs for Laiken. A few months back she lost her two Ridgeback brothers due to a sudden passing within a few weeks of each other, and she has felt their loss. Laiken’s older (human) sister, Ava (pictured below) has helped Laiken get through the difficult time.

Things are looking up for Laiken though โ€“ she is now a big sis herself, with the Carnevale family having plans to bring home another Ridgeback puppy named Eden.

“Laiken is a mama baby and is the best snuggler and gives the sweetest kisses,” said the Carnevales. “We don’t know what we would ever do without our crazy girl.”

Congrats to Laiken on being LebTown’s Pet of the Week!
