East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 23, 2021 at 7:00 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Volvo UKN, driven by Operator 1, was traveling southbound on I 81. While traveling southbound on I 81, Unit 1 swerved to avoid a deer that was crossing the roadway. After swerving to avoid the deer that was crossing the roadway, Unit 1 left the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. At this time, Unit 1 became hung up on the embankment. A tow was called to the scene to free the stuck vehicle. Unit 1 sustained minor damage as a result of this crash. The radiator of Unit 1 was punctured while being freed from its stuck location. Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 7, 2021 at 7:11 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on the 100 block of Carpenter St. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was parked behind Unit 2, a 2013 Hyundai Veloster, driven by Operator 2, both facing north, when Unit 1 attempted to exit the parking spot and struck the rear bumper of Unit 2. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper of Unit 1 struck the rear bumper of Unit 2. Unit 1 fled from the scene, after striking Unit 2, to an unknown location. Unit 2 was unoccupied at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether and to what extent Operator 1 sustained injuries as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 18, 2021 at 7:17 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 501 at its intersection with Reistville Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2014 Hyundai Tucson, driven by Operator 1, a 17 year old Lebanon female, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 14 year old Lebanon female, and Passenger 2, a 12 year old Lebanon female, was traveling westbound on Reistville Rd. and Unit 2, a 2017 Ford F350, driven by Operator 2, a 63 year old New Ringgold man, was traveling south on SR 501. Unit 1 began attempting to cross the intersection to continue east on Reistville Rd., when it was struck in its front driver’s side by Unit 2 in the southbound lane of SR 501. Operator 1, Passenger 1, Passenger 2, and Operator 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time fo the crash. Operator 1 was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center with suspected serious, or critical, injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 suffered a suspected minor injury, a head laceration as a result of this crash but refused transport. Passenger 1 and Passenger 2 were evaluated on scene by Schaefferstown EMS and no other injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by CJ Wagner’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Jackson Township

Harassment Physical Contact – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 4:00 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to the park in Jackson Twp. for a report of a fight that occurred between juveniles. The acting juvenile was charged with two counts of Harassment – Physical Contact. Charges were filed at Magisterial District Court 52-3-01. The Victims were an 11 year old Myerstown female and a 12 year old Myerstown male. The Arrestee was an 11 year old Myerstown female.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 5:06 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2003 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Operator 2, a 39 year old Myerstown woman, was in the intersection of Fairlane Ave. and West Main Ave., when Unit 1, a 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer, driven by Operator 1, a 23 year old Myerstown woman, which was stopped on West Main Ave., pulled out into the intersection and struck Unit 2. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices.

Jonestown Borough

Harassment – On Oct. 14, 2021 at 4:00 p.m., PSP Jonestown was dispatched for a domestic altercation on the 100 block of West Market St. It was found that the Arrestee had sent multiple threatening text messages to the Victim. The Arrestee was cited with Harassment. The Arrestee was Terry Wanner, a 36 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was a 35 year old Jonestown woman.

Millcreek Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 27, 2021 at 5:19 p.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 1, 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Operator 1, a 37 year old Lititz man, was traveling westbound on SR 419, just east of its intersection with Reistville Rd. in Millcreek Twp. Operator 1 was traveling at a high rate of speed and texting on his cell phone, when Unit 1 crossed the double yellow line, traveled into the eastbound lane of travel, then traveled back into the westbound lane, and then rolled onto its roof, coming to final rest, facing north. Operator 1 was able to exit the vehicle. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance.

Myerstown Borough

Drug Possession – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 2:55 a.m., at West Lincoln Ave. and North College St., a traffic stop conducted by members of PSP Jonestown found the vehicle operator to be in possession of marijuana and under the influence of alcohol. Charges for this incident are pending forensic blood analysis results. The vehicles involved included a 2005 Mini Cooper.

Simple Assault – On Oct. 17, 2021 at 3:22 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to the 00 block of West Center Ave. for a reported motor vehicle crash with multiple people struck. The Arrestee was a 20 year old Lebanon man. The investigation is still ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 9:03 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 422, east of North Locust St. in Myerstown Boro. Unit 1, a 2019 Subaru WRX, driven by Operator 1, was traveling behind Unit 2, a 2008 Chevrolet Express, driven by Operator 2, when it crossed the fog line to overtake Unit 2 on the right shoulder. As Unit 2 attempted to turn right into the gas station, Unit 1 was hit by Unit 2. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Both vehicles were able to leave the scene on their own power. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic. Operator 2 was cited for Turning Movements and Required Signals.

Theft – On Oct. 17, 2021 at 1:10 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to South College St. for a report of an unknown Actor removing three Syroco plastic chairs and a fire pit from the yard of the Victim’s residence between Sept. 21, 2021 and Oct. 18, 2021 at an unknown time and by unknown means. The unknown Actor(s) then fled the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means. PSP Jonestown is investigating. The Victim was a 30 year old Myerstown woman.

Theft Items From Motor Vehicle – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 6:13 p.m., it was reported to PSP Jonestown that the Victim’s vehicle, which was located in front of the property on the 100 block of West Maple Ave. in Myerstown Boro., had been rummaged through overnight. A $10 bill was taken from the vehicle. The Actors(s) are unknown at this time. The Victim was a 51 year old Myerstown man. The vehicles involved included a Pontiac Vibe sports wagon and a 2015 Dodge Caravan.

Theft Items From Motor Vehicle – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 1:49 p.m., it was reported to PSP Jonestown that the Victim’s vehicle, which was located in front of the property on the 200 block of West Maple Ave. in Myerstown Boro., had been rummaged through overnight. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. The Actor(s) are unknown at this time. The Victim was a 26 year old Myerstown woman. The vehicles involved included a Chevrolet Equinox.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 9, 2021 at 2:07 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2005 Volkswagen Passat, driven by Operator 2, a 19 year old Myerstown man, was traveling westbound on East Main Ave. in Myerstown Boro. While traveling westbound on East Main Ave., Unit 1, a 2000 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 1, a 90 year old Myerstown man, which was stopped at a properly marked stop sign on North Willow St., pulled out in front of Unit 2. At this time, Unit 2 struck Unit 1 in the intersection of East Main Ave. and Willow St., causing disabling damage to both vehicles. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion EMS. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Obedience to Traffic-Control Devices.

North Lebanon Township

Drug Possession – A 21 year old Lebanon woman was charged with Possession of Marijuana after an incident that occurred on Sept. 1, 2021 at the Union Canal Park after park hours.

Drug Possession – A 47 year old Lebanon woman was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after an incident that occurred on July 31, 2021 at Stoever’s Dam.

Retail Theft – Zachary Siok, a 31 year old Annville resident, was charged with Retail Theft after an incident that occurred on Oct. 3, 2021 at the Lebanon Wal-Mart after failing to pay for $211.94 worth of merchandise.

DUI – Leon Gettler, a 62 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after a crash that occurred at North 8th Ave. and Weavertown Rd. on Aug. 22, 2021.

DUI – Edward Martinez, a 55 year old Lebanon resident, was charged with Driving Under the Influence after a crash that occurred on the 1700 block of SR 72 on Sept. 26, 2021.

DUI – On Aug. 22, 2021 at 2:27 a.m., at Old Ebenezer Rd. and Ebenezer Rd., a traffic stop conducted by members of PSP Jonestown found the vehicle operator to be under the influence of controlled substances. Charges for this incident are to be filed through Magisterial District Court 52-3-03. The Arrestee was a 58 year old Lebanon woman. The vehicles involved included a 2006 Ford Fusion.

DUI, Speeding – On Oct. 16, 2021 at 12:24 a.m., the vehicle operator was stopped for a traffic violation at East Cumberland St. and Green Acres Trailer Ct. During the stop, it was determined that the operator was driving under the influence. The operator was arrested for DUI and was taken to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for a blood test. Charges were filed at District Justice Verna for DUI and Speeding. The Arrestee was Terry Gross, a 59 year old Coral Springs, FL man. The vehicles involved include a 2015 Chrysler.

South Londonderry Township

Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 15, 2021 at 9:11 a.m., Unit 1, a Toyota sedan, driven by Operator 1, Jacob Ranck, a 75 year old Cornwall resident, crashed into Unit 2, a tractor-trailer, driven by Operator 2, a 57 year old Lebanon man. Unit 1 had been traveling west on Rt. 322, when it left its lane for an unknown reason and crossed into the oncoming lane. Unit 2, driving eastbound, swerved to avoid a head-on collision, and Unit 1 subsequently struck the side of Unit 2. Unit 2 ended up striking a sign and a tree on the side of the road. Witnesses reported seeing Unit 1 swerving several times prior to the crash. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 sustained injuries as a result of this crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Zimmey’s Auto and Cocker’s Towing assisted in removing the vehicles. Campbelltown Fire and Fire Police assisted with the scene and directing traffic.

Harassment – On Oct. 5, 2021 at approximately 9:23 a.m., the South Londonderry Twp. Police Department was dispatched to the area of Mt. Wilson Rd. and Mt. Gretna Rd. for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police met with the parties involved. Following an investigation, it was determined that a 37 year old Lebanon woman had confronted another motorist on the roadway and spit on them. The woman was charged with Harassment.

Theft From Motor Vehicles – On Oct. 9, 2021 at 12:23 p.m., the South Londonderry Twp. Police Department received a report of two vehicles on Fencepost Ln. which had been entered sometime overnight. Items were stolen from both vehicles. Anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to contact the South Londonderry Twp. Police Department at 717-838-1376.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 23, 2021 at 8:14 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 1, a 23 year old Frackville woman, was traveling southbound on I 81 in the area of mile marker 93.1. While traveling southbound on I 81, Unit 1 lost control, after hitting standing water in the roadway. After losing control, Unit 1 exited the left side of the roadway, where it then came to final rest against the embankment, facing north. Operator 1 was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 22, 2021 at 9:15 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp Gaffney SC UKN, driven by Operator 1, a 49 year old Montville, CT man, was traveling southbound on I 81. While traveling southbound on I 81 in the area of mile marker 93.0, Unit 1 lost control due to wet roadway conditions and left the roadway. Upon leaving the roadway, Unit 1 struck an embankment on the left side shoulder, before jackknifing and coming to final rest against the embankment. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by H&S Towing. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Union Township

Theft By Deception – On Oct. 12, 2021 at 10:25 a.m., troopers responded to Lion Ln. for a reported theft by deception. The Victim was a 57 year old Jonestown man. The stolen property included 7 eBay Gift Cards Loaded With $200.00, valued at a total of $1,400.00, and 1 eBay Gift Card Loaded With $41.68, valued at $41.68. Troopers are investigating.

NTC – On Sept. 4, 2021, PSP Jonestown responded to the area of Fisher Ave. and Cedar Ln. in Union Twp. Upon arrival on scene, it was learned that a physical altercation took place in which the Arrestee spit in the Victim’s face. NTC was filed on the Arrestee. Trooper Wolff is investigating.

Theft Disposition Of Funds – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., this incident occurred when the Victim(s) related that a fraudulent transaction of $250.00 was made from their joint bank account by an unknown Suspect(s). The Victims were a 41 year old Fredericksburg man and a 16 year old Fredericksburg man. The stolen property included a $250.00 Unknown Withdrawal From Bank Account, valued at $250.00.

Identity Theft – On Sept. 20, 2021 at 4:40 p.m., PSP Jonestown investigated an incident where unknown Actor(s) used the Victim’s personal information to open an unemployment claim. Anyone who has had a similar incident occur is urged to contact their local police department.
