Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

Welcome to a new segment here at LVFC where we will highlight a quick munchy item you can find in the Valley. Places to find such munchies are roadside produce and baked goods stands, local grocery stores, or anywhere else within the Valley. We love to stop and check them out because you just might find something amazing.

Today, we stopped by Brown’s Bakery along Shanamantown Road in North Annville Township.

They offer a collection of homemade baked goods as well as local honey from Moyer’s Apiaries and coffee from Cleona Coffee Roasters for sale. Payment is by cash, with a deposit box inside the stand. They are open Tuesday through Saturday.

Our munchy to start the week was their sand tart. We got our pack for $5, and they tasted almost as good as my mom’s (sorry, nothing will beat hers). Rolled nice and thin with a crispy crunch, these cookies are packed with that unique sugary flavor. If you happen to drive by, or are like me and go out of your way to get a pack, you surely will not be disappointed.
