Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

That fateful time has come in my workday, lunch. I had a work meeting in Lebanon and needed to grab some snacks for our breakroom. So why not kill two birds with one stone. I traveled up N. 7th Street to Sunset Outlets Snack Bar.

Last Thursday they even had a food truck and a soft serve ice cream truck set up in the parking lot. I’ll have to come back to try these out. Most everyone knows about Sunset as a discount grocery and snack bar. They have many options from subs to hot dogs, salads, hamburger BBQ, and mac & cheese.

Meals are to go or eat in and the ordering process is simple. I was able to give my order to the ladies behind the counter. The sandwich was ready in less than two minutes.

Today I ordered a large special Italian ($4.29) with LTO, extra mayo, spicy capicola, and sweet peppers on a white roll. The sandwich is loaded with meat but looks small for a large. The roll was fresh, and the fixings were good. A simple sandwich for a simple craving.

Our take: Sunset Snack bar has more options than just a sub/sandwich. The sandwich is good but our large seemed more like a small. The sandwich was fresh and did the job. Nothing special or outstanding, just a good low-cost sandwich.

We give this place ???.
