Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valleyโ€™s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appรฉtit!

Welcome to the first season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Cheesesteak Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of Best Cheesesteak in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including style of quality of steak, composition, flavor, roll, and overall impression.

We continue in the west end of the Valley along West Main St. in Palmyra at Hoagies on Main. This sandwich shop is located in a multi-use building with a small parking lot out front.ย

Our selection for judgement this evening was the Cheesesteak ($13.05) with Whiz, no onions.ย

The sandwich was loaded with steak and the Whiz had already soaked down through the entire sandwich. The roll was fresh, and the bites were even. We did have to add some salt to the steak. The bites were moist, but not too moist for the cheesesteak to fall apart on us.

We will finish up the first season of Cheesesteak Wars as we visit our last entrant: Stuffโ€™d Steaks. After which, we will announce our winner.ย
