Editor’s Note: Last year, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to be partnering with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!

The weekend has come but our schedule is a bit different this Saturday. We were going to be traveling to New Jersey for a cookout.

This means we want to have a light breakfast. We figured this would give us a chance to try a newer local spot that we have gotten a few requests to try.

Located within the new shopping center at North Cornwall Commons, Oola Bowls is a small franchise with several locations around the south central PA area. Lebanon currently has one location.

They offer dine in, takeout, and drive-thru service. The menu includes acai and pitaya bowls, smoothies, bites, and coffee. They also have a seasonal menu with seasonal fruits featured on the bowls.

Our first selection today, we had a small Vibin’ Island ($10.95), with an Organic Pitaya Base, Honey, Paçoca, Pineapple, Kiwi, Toasted Coconut. The pitaya base came out a little frozen. The fresh fruit on top was plentiful. The toasted coconut flavor stood out through all bites. Unfortunately, the first few bites into this bowl we had the toppings fall onto the table and create a mess.

The second bowl we got was a small Ootella Bowl ($10.95) Organic Açaî Base, Nutella, Almond Dust, Bananas, Strawberries, and Cacao Nibs. Nutella is the obvious flavor burst with this bowl. The tart of the strawberry created a fresh summer taste. We did enjoy the slight crunch of the cacao nibs mixed into this bowl.

Our take: The Oola bowls themselves are a fresh and healthy tasting option. Having one makes you feel just a little better about yourself. Our biggest gripe is the first dips into the bowl will get its contents to drop on the table. Overall, this is a fan favorite, and we can see why. They have several selections and varieties for your pleasure.

We give this place 🥓🥓🥓🥓.
