Edgar Allan Poe’s haunting tales will soon echo through the Pennsylvania Chautauqua as Gretna Theatre presents NEVERMORE.
For two weekends, from Sept. 21-23 and Sept. 28-30, the Mount Gretna Playhouse will be transformed into a multi-faceted theatrical experience of suspense and surprise.
Audience members can anticipate encounters with characters from Poe’s renowned works such as “The Tell Tale Heart,” “The Cask of Amantialldo,” and “The Fall of the House of Usher,” as well as lesser-known tales like “A Predicament” and “The Masque of the Red Death.” Guided by Detective Auguste Jacquelíne Dupín, they’ll explore a village engulfed in guilt, secrets, and despair following a series of eerie disappearances.
