WellSpan Health announced Tuesday, Oct. 10, that it has acquired Schaefferstown Family Medicine, which will now operate as WellSpan Family Medicine in Schaefferstown.

Although terms of the deal were not disclosed, county real estate records show that Schaefferstown Family Medicine’s 2496 Stiegel Pike offices in Myerstown were acquired by a WellSpan real estate holdings company for $665,000 earlier this month.

According to a press release, the three-provider practice serves more than 4,500 local patients. The practice is open five days a week and is currently accepting new patients.

“Bringing the providers, staff, and patients of this practice into the WellSpan Health family will allow us to expand access to the highest quality, affordable care to the residents of Lebanon County, with a care team who knows their community and those community members can trust,” said Dr. Anthony Aquilina, executive vice president and chief physician executive, in a press release.

“Patients in the Schaefferstown community have trusted the providers at this practice for the last 25 years, and this move will allow us to continue to offer patients the high-quality care they have come to expect.”
