Editor’s Note: Michael and Nicole Borrell review Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. The couple aims to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. LebTown is pleased to partner with LVFC to share these reviews with our readers. Bon appétit!
Welcome to the second season of our highly anticipated Lebanon Valley Burger Wars. Four entrants from the Valley will compete to be declared the winner of ‘Best Burger in The Valley.’
Our judgement will be based upon several factors including style and quality of burger, composition, messiness, and overall impression. We will only be judging two burgers from each restaurant and all burgers will be cooked to the same temperature.
This season will be slightly different as our Season 1 winner (Richland Railroad Diner) will be competing again to retain its title.

This brewpub offers 8 smash burgers on its menu, ranging in price from $10.99 to $12.99.
Our selections for judgement this evening were a Schaylor Style burger ($12.99) and a Bacon Jam burger ($12.99). These burgers come on a brioche bun with two smash patties and fixings.
The patties are fresh and well-seasoned. The Schaylor style burger is a good choice for someone that wants to taste the burger. I should have requested extra spicy pickles because they were good. I could barely taste the Schaylor sauce on this burger.
The Bacon Jam burger is a good blend of spicy sweet with the crunch of the onion rings. The cooper cheese for this one was oozing off. The bacon could have been crispier. An enjoyable bite that can get a little messy.
Did we just have the best burgers in the Valley?
Next up we will travel to our other entrants: 7th Street Bar & Grill, Colebrook Tavern, and our defending champion, Richland Railroad Diner. After which, we will announce our winner.
