Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. There will be a total of 4 entrants. Round 1 will be head to head. The final round will be between the 2 remaining places to be declared the winner of Best Pizza in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including taste, texture, sauce, crust, and overall critic impression.

For this round, we will be having a standard pizza with pepperoni.

We begin with our first match-up between Greektown Pizza Restaurant in Lebanon vs. Tosco Pizza in Myerstown.

Greektown’s slice comes with a noticeably large pepperoni slice.

The sauce is slightly sweet but has a nice, seasoned flavor. We did feel the cheese to sauce ratio was a bit heavy on the cheese side.

The dough had a good crispy edge and still had some flop. One critic noted it reminded them of their go to pizza slice from their childhood.

The slice from Tosco comes well sauced and copious amounts of cheese.

There was a large amount of grease accrued on top.

The crust was doughy and had lots of flop.

The sauce itself was delicious with a slight sweet lasting flavor. They added plenty of pepperoni to this pie.

The winner of the first round is…

Greektown Pizza!
