Editor’s Note: In 2021, Michael and Nicole Borrell began reviewing Lebanon Valley’s restaurants and eating attractions as the Lebanon Valley Food Critics. Since then, the couple has aimed to offer unbiased reviews of the eating and drinking establishments the Lebanon Valley has to offer. There will be a total of 4 entrants. Round 1 will be head to head. The final round will be between the 2 remaining places to be declared the winner of Best Pizza in The Valley.

Our judgement will be based upon several factors including taste, texture, sauce, crust, and overall critic impression.

For this round, we will be having a standard pizza with pepperoni.

Find our first match-up between Greektown Pizza vs. Tosco Pizza here.

Our second match-up is between Hearty Slice in North Cornwall and Fabio & Joe’s in Palmyra.

The pepperoni pie from Hearty Slice comes with a plentiful helping of cheese.

The pie itself is well cooked and has an even crispy crust from edge to edge. They add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on top for the last minute of cooking.

The sauce is slightly sweet and with a little tang on the backend and has plenty of sauce.

The pepperoni pizza from Fabio & Joe’s comes with a slightly thicker and doughy crust with a nice char on top.

I would have liked to have had a crispy bottom. The sauce is sweet but there is something about it that to me might be the best sauce of our season 3 entrants. The cheese to sauce ratio is decent and the pizza is well topped.

The winner of the second round is…

Fabio & Joe’s!
