The Jackson Township property formerly home to Layser’s Flowers Garden Center and Gift Shop was purchased for $1.695 million by Copper Run Holdings in mid-November.
As previously reported, the property at 501 W. Washington Ave. had been auctioned in June following the retirement of Lu Layser.

New owner Rick Stauffer, an Ephrata-based developer, said that at this point, there aren’t any specific plans for the property, which is being cleaned up and cleared of greenhouses.
“We’re analyzing different things and basically it’s going to be some type of commercial use,” said Stauffer.
The property, which is mostly zoned commercial, could potentially be sold or leased as separate parcels.
Township officials said that Lebanon County planning is currently reviewing a request to have the entire property zoned as commercial; right now, a small portion towards the back of the property falls into the residential district. Jackson Township supervisors would need to vote on updating the zoning map to have the entire property be zoned commercial.
