Action was light Monday, Jan. 13, at the City of Lebanon Authority’s (COLA) first board meeting of 2025.
Martin Yocum Jr. was re-appointed board chairman; Betty Eiceman, vice-chairman; George Christianson, secretary; Robert Hoffman, treasurer; and Brad Longenecker, assistant secretary/assistant treasurer. Samuel Weiss Jr. was re-appointed solicitor, and Frederic Long, assistant solicitor.
Four construction invoices totaling $488,300 were approved for the wastewater treatment plant improvement project, which includes replacing and upgrading equipment and facilities.
The project is on schedule with completion anticipated in December.
The board also learned that COLA continues to get calls from customers about potential lead service lines. In November, COLA mailed letters to 2,300 customers informing them that they might have lead service lines.

About 25 customers have called in response to the letter, said Jon Beers, COLA executive director.
“As the water department runs across lead service lines, we are replacing them or scheduling their replacement,” Beers told the board.
In other business, the board learned that COLA:
- Has not yet heard from Fort Indiantown Gap regarding a water supply agreement. In August, Beers reported that the Gap was interested in formalizing a written agreement with COLA for water. Currently, the Gap can draw up to 500,000 gallons per day.
- Has not received a Water System Final Inspection Report from the EPA. In June, EPA inspectors made a surprise three-day inspection — the first — of COLA’s water system.
The City of Lebanon Authority Board meets at 2311 Ridgeview Road, Lebanon, on the second Monday of each month at 3 p.m. The next meeting will be Monday, Feb. 10. These meetings are open to the public and do not require registration.
